Lovely Onsen that took great care of me for the last 2 nights of a 5-day Kumano Kodo journey. It has everything you could need.

We had a few issues with our stay that are useful to know about if you’re planning to stay here, but first of all I’d like to say that this is a good hotel overall, or at least it has the potential to be one with a few minor changes or considerations. Issues: - There’s no toothpaste in the rooms. I’m assuming this is something that can be requested at the front desk though. - The AC units are old. Our room got very warm and I needed to go down to the front desk to ask for help. I think getting new AC units would be a good idea. - Limited English. Yes, this is an issue for those who cannot speak Japanese, and it’s not a major issue, because some select staff members can speak a bit of English, but I called the reception desk to tell them about the AC issue and was met with “sorry” and got hung up on. I guess the staff member panicked a bit and rather than getting a colleague to talk, he thought the issue would just go away. - Tattoos are not accepted in the Onsen. This may not come as a major surprise for most people who’ve done research into what’s considered okay in Japan, but some places offer stickers or clothing to cover tattoos. This place unfortunately does not. I have a small tattoo and it meant that I was excluded from using one of the coolest aspects of the hotel. - A service charge when you check out. This was not communicated at all until check out. The service charge is 300 as of writing this review, and it’s for the Onsen maintenance, but as I didn’t/couldn’t make use of this feature, I thought it was a little unfair to make me pay for it. If I had known in advance I would’ve also accepted it, but to be told this before leaving was a bit unprofessional. Perhaps instead of charging every guest for the Onsen, they could/should charge those who actively use it. There are a few more minor issues that aren’t worth fussing over. I hope this helps other guests in some way/

Japanese style room with ocean view was so impressive. The room was clean and cozy. But the dinner set and breakfast were a bit small

The sea view room we got was one of the biggest rooms we've stayed in. Felt like the space could easily sleep 10 people. The hotel is slightly older and the in-room shower area was very old. But their onsen was wonderful, especially the outdoor section.

I've stayed at the Kame no Ii before, and it felt like an ordinary chain traditional Japanese hot spring hotel. This one seems to be newly renovated on the basis of an old hotel, which exceeded expectations. The private hot spring pool is made of stone, and the Pacific Ocean is outside the fence. However, the shower facilities are right next to the hot spring pool, and they are also open-air. The hot spring pool is very warm in winter, but it's a bit cold when taking a shower. There are some amusement equipment in the lobby, including table games and coin-operated machines, and I dream of Namco 🤣 The dinner is a set meal, a bit exquisite, and there is also Kumano beef. It's pretty good. The breakfast is more standard Japanese style, and there is no particularly delicious memory point. I stayed in Nachikatsuura for one night in Urashima and one night in Kame no Ii, and it was a different experience. Kame no Ii's room is updated, especially this private hot spring is really recommended.

The most satisfying hotel of this trip, I booked a private hot spring room with sea view on the first floor, which is really convenient to take a bath in the room. The evening class and breakfast are all kaiseki cuisine, which is very ceremonial and delicious. There will also be free dandan noodles in the evening. The only drawback is that the toilet in the bathroom is not so clean. I wiped it several times with alcohol wipes before I dared to use it. The hotel's homemade plum wine is also delicious, 3300 yen a bottle. It is good as a souvenir or for yourself.

The sea view room is great! The dining environment has a sea view, which is also great! Our tram was late and we missed the dinner time. The hotel specially saved dinner for us. We had a hot dinner just after arriving at the hotel before checking in. It warmed our stomach and heart. It is a traditional warm hotel with warm service~

The sea view room faces the blue sea, and you can see the sunrise from the side in the morning. The room is large, the bathing area is nice, especially the open-air one is very comfortable. The breakfast and dinner are beyond expectations. If you stay for two nights, the dinner seems to be different every night. Sea view, open-air bath, one night and two meals, isn't this how you should enjoy your trip to Japan? The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the station and 15 minutes from the fishing port. 5 minutes from FamilyMart
