Wir haben eine Ganztagestour mit Ganesh gemacht und es war wunderschön! Wir durchquerten zuerst Teeplantagen bis wir den Gipfel eines nahegelegenen Berges erreichten, auf dem Weg nach unten brachte uns Ganesh durch Kardamomplantagen und erklärte uns, wie *** verschiedene Pflanzen wie Pfeffer, Vanille, Kakao, den Gummibaum und viele andere erkennt. Ganesh ist ein wunderbarer Guide spricht perfektes Englisch und ist in der Lage, viele interessante Informationen zu geben, er ist lustig und leicht. Definitiv die beste Erfahrung, die wir in Munnar hatten.

Wir haben nicht in diesem Hotel übernachtet. Das Hotel bietet auch Halb- und Ganztageswandertouren rund um Munnar an. Wir haben uns für die Ganztagestour entschieden. Unser Guide war Felix. Vom Hotel aus sind wir pünktlich gestartet. Wir sind direkt durch die Teeplantage aufwärts zum höchsten Punkt gewandert. Oben angekommen servierte uns Felix ein Frühstück bestehend aus Omelette, Toast und frischem Obst. Die Aussicht war schön! Felix hat uns während des Frühstücks allein gelassen, um den weiteren Weg auszukundschaften. Danach gab es einen sehr steilen und rutschigen Abstieg durch hoch stehendes Gras. Es war ein sehr anspruchsvoller Abstieg, weil *** nicht immer sehen konnte wohin *** tritt. Der Rest des Weges führte jedoch auf befestigtem Weg. Es war eine schöne Wanderstrecke mit schönen Aussichtspunkten. Es war auch schön, dass Felix uns zu Mittag an einen weiteren Aussichtspunkt führte und uns Brot mit einem leckeren Kartoffelcurry servierte. Felix‘ Verhalten als Guide war jederzeit professionell. Als wir frühstückten, hat er uns allein gelassen um den weiteren Weg auszukundschaften. Tatsächlich hat er einen gefährlichen Wasserbüffel entdeckt und wir so lange pausiert (ca. 30 Minuten) bis die Gefahr gebannt war. Außerdem ging es einem Teilnehmer so übel, dass er die Wanderung abbrechen musste. Er hat die Person so lange versorgt und ein TukTuk besorgt, was den Teilnehmer zum Hotel gebracht hat. Wir hatten viel Spaß und können die Wandertour empfehlen.

Green View Holiday Inn is a good choice accommodation for those wanting to locate in Munnar itself. The staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms clean, the tariff quite reasonable. I can definitely recommend Green View. Nonetheless, one wonders why people want to go to Munnar in the first place, seeing as it is a famous hill station. If you want to escape the crowds and heat of the lowlands, see a sea of camellia (tea) plants covering every last bit of landscape, look out over the vast valleys through the haze, and even see an elephant or two, then this is a great place. Probably suited more to domestic tourism. But if you are foreigner interested in Indian culture, Munnar is not the best place to look for that. You can't even go for a short walk from the Inn without having to constantly dodge rickshaws, motorbikes trucks and buses. Eating is restricted options, and the town proper is one of the least interesting Indian towns I have seen. Having said that, the staff at Green View are helpful in guiding you to where you can experience the more acclaimed sites in this area, so definitely seek their advice.

Green view Munnar This place was super cheap, and a great meeting point , the staff are very very informative and they run some great tours from here in fact they helped us tremendously by offering lots of informative advice for our onwards travels . The reception area is very cute and the rooms have everything you need . There’s a common area rooftop which is really quirky and has good views over Munnar . We met lots of interesting travellers here and shared information. Plus definitely do the tea plantation hike it’s worth getting up for, we also did a tour the next day organised by the hotel and saw lots of wild elephants. Green view is great base in Munnar

Hôtel économique, simple et propre. Nous avons fais le treck full-day avec Ganesh. C'est très sympa au milieu des plantations de thés et d'épices. Ganesh est un guide super sympa et très intéressant . Nous avons bien rigolé ... Je recommande.

We did a fabulous full day trek with Ganesh through the tea plantations and up to some wonderful view points. Ganesh was extremely knowledgable about the plantations and provided us with lots of information about other spices and plants that grew in the area. We enjoyed our full day trek so much that we decided to book a half day trek for the next day! The price was very reasonable and the food was just what we needed!

Great trek experience with Ganesh for a fair price. Views were amazing and our guide Ganesh explained every plants and answered all our questions. We got observe the workers in the plantations. Highly recommended.

I had a very pleasant stay in this hotel :) The staff is very nice and welcoming and they really did everything to help me organize my stay. They managed to find an excellent guide to go trekking the following day even though there was a strike going on and the weather was a bit cloudy (turned out, we had a shining sun when we did the trekking!). The hotel also organizes several types of tours to help you make the best of your stay in Munnar and there is a lovely cafe and a nice massage spa just around the corner. They also gave me good recommendations on where to eat, how much the tuktuks should charge and helped me with the WiFi. The room was clean and comfortable and the rooftop and common area was lovely. They are near the bus station so it makes it very convenient when you arrive. Ask for Ganesh to go trekking, he's a great guide and takes amazing photos!!
