Staying at The Taj Mahal Tower, Mumbai, was an unforgettable experience. The hotel is a perfect blend of historic charm and modern luxury. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was outstanding – the staff made me feel incredibly welcome and catered to every need with a smile.
The rooms were beautifully appointed, offering stunning views of the Gateway of India and the Arabian Sea. The attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel, from the decor to the amenities, was impeccable. Dining at their restaurants was a highlight – each meal was a culinary delight, especially at the Sea Lounge.
The location is prime, allowing easy access to key landmarks in South Mumbai. Whether for a leisurely stay or a business trip, The Taj Mahal Tower offers a five-star experience with a timeless charm. I look forward to returning
I would say it’s one of the best location in Mumbai to stay. Sea view room was amazing with a view of marine drive. Breakfast buffet has lots of variety!
Beautiful historic hotel which is iconic in South Mumbai opposite the Gateway of India. The club room was beautiful and well appointed. Service was polite but requests from the room were a little slow to be responded to and we didn’t meet the ‘butler’ that was supposed to be available to us throughout our stay. There was some construction work happening on the roof directly above our room during our stay which was deafeningly loud, it took 3 calls to the front desk to get a resolution which was disappointing. At this level of hotel I would have expected at least a warning before the work started and a plan on how to mitigate its effects on us without us having to complain. Having a toddler needing an afternoon nap whilst jackhammers were pounding the ceiling was not an experience we enjoyed. To their credit they did stop the work for 2 hours to let our child nap, but the experience lessened appreciation of the Taj stay.

We booked a King One Bedroom Suite with Sea View - Smoking. But during check-in we found out that we were getting a non-smoking room. Not a deal breaker but it would be good for the hotel to keep the room sold out if they cannot offer what is stated. To compensate they did upgrade us to the 2nd largest room in the hotel with both the sea and city view, which was nice.
The hotel room was beautiful and spacious, in general was clean, but the cups and glasses in the room were not clean at all, the same for the breakfast area.
The staff was nice and accommodating, room service was fast and they took great care of their guest when it came to serving breakfast.
The location of the hotel is one of the best in Mumbai, and the view is gorgeous - the queens necklace.
100% recommend :)
Hotel is very conveniently located near marine drive. The ambiance inside is good. The suit was comfortable though a bit small for the price. The menu for breakfast is not very great. They don't have live counters. Staff is courteous and respectful. Overall a comfortable stay
I loved our stay at President - Ihcl SeleQtions hotel during my business trip. The ambience is really good and staff is so cooperative. Meals were on point (considering me being health freak), food was clean and upto the mark. A few locations as Marine drive, Gateway of India, Hotel Taj - everything is so nearby to roam around.
I asked them for a special dinner planning and they were so helpful in arranging everything on time.
I would definitely love to visit again and stay there only.
It is already the second time to stay, quiet in the middle of noisy, surrounded by slums! It is very convenient to eat, there is a very small hotel. It is also very close to the India Gate. It is a very good place to travel and the price is very good!
Not bad, although the single room is quite small, but it is acceptable to live alone. Pre-paid unair-conditioned taxis from the airport are about 660 + 70 (tolls, I do n’t know if it was pitted). From the hotel, uber to the airport is 500 + 20 (tip). I never found the main entrance of this hotel. They all came from the corridor of the Trident Hotel next door. It was not until the day of check-out that the main entrance of the hotel was on the negative first floor! Outside the hotel is ”Yuebanwan”, which is very lively at night. If the air is good, you can still run. Walk to India Gate for about 20 minutes, all kinds of noise on the road. There is no supermarket near the hotel, but there are Starbucks and McDonalds, and there is also a cinema. Hotel breakfast is still good, à la carte + small buffet, service is good.
Being a solo traveller (I wrongly booked for 2) I was “upgraded” to a room in the top floor with a window that looked into all kind of machines, I didn’t feel comfortable there. Besides there are some metro construction works that make it a bit difficult to reach the place. It’s a 20 minutes distance from Gateway of India but for the price I paid I wasn’t expecting such a 2/3 stars hotel. Breakfast just normal, nothing great
We stayed for 13 days in a non-sea facing Executive Suite. The room is like a one bed room apartment. Very spacious with a comfortable bed and a nice sofa. It also contains two TVs, a nice desk and a very nice one-seater with an otto*** and a coffee table. Daily cleaning and service were excellent (complimentary pastries and chocolates every day).
The hotel lobby and the Bay View restaurant are simply spectacular. The breakfast buffet was very good with wide choices of Indian and Continental dishes. The Geoffrey's Bar is great for relaxation after a day of sightseeing. The hotel staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful.
The only slightly disappointing thing is the rooftop swimming pool area which seems to be designed for functions rather than for relaxation. Nevertheless, the pool itself was very clean.
The hotel location is, of course, wonderful. Right on the famed Marine Drive. It's only a few minutes walk to Church Gate train station and there are bus stops right in front of the hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can strongly recommend this boutique hotel.

JJoe Mthis was a great surpise of location , quality and service ....shh its a great secret for any visit to Mumbai. Tlle the staff that Joe and Connie (with a wheel chair ) that we send our best . we were there earlier than this form allows but still all wonderful
The positive of this hotel is its central location, very close to the Gateway of India and to bars and restaurants. Unfortunately the negatives heavily outweigh this. There is poor access to the hotel which is on the 4th floor with a lift that only goes to floor 1. The stairwell isn’t clean and is unwelcoming. The rooms are small with nowhere to put your things and are badly maintained and cleaned. The mattress was hard, and the bed linen grubby looking and uncomfortable. We had no hot water for the whole 3 nights of our stay. Staff did try to repair it but it kept reverting back to cold water. The windows were filthy inside, and covered with pigeon faeces outside, so we didn’t want to touch them. The worst thing was probably the noise- from other guests, but also from the staff late at night as well as the constant and loud road noise all of which kept us awake. Whilst recognising that this is a relatively low budget hotel, we were very disappointed with our stay and would not recommend it unless you were on an absolute shoestring budget. It is at best a hostel level hotel.
