Mount Lavinia Hotel

Arrived very late and we’re still welcome D with non alcoholic freshly made juice for my self and my littlest extremely accomodating at such a late hour breakfast was a buffet setup with. Oth Western European and traditional Sri Lanka cuisines and we still pretty much could order anything anyway - my daughter wanted western style eggs fried sunny side up on toast cracked them right there in front of here the view was incredible from our room you could hear the ocean crash against the rocks only wish we could have stayed longer really good people place service was exceptional- you. E nice they be nice easy peasy xox

Soup and salad with a variety of different type of salads involving Japanese , local , western of excellent quality taste and variations of different type of bread as well .Reasonable price . The only Hotel that gives the Salad buffet as I know . And you will get a special personalized service from the staff. Special mention of Kumari who paid individual attention to us and anyone else who comes as guests . She is an exceptional asset to the Hotel . Highly recommend for those who likes Salads and Soup at a reasonable price .

We stayed for three nights and overall had a very good visit . The staff were charming and attentive and the food was excellent with tremendous variety. The view from our room was great but the room itself was ‘tired’ and needed updating - I realise we were in one of the superior rooms but even they need some maintenance. The shower door didn’t close properly making the floor wet and slippery. The television never worked and we had to unplug it as it was emitting loud electrical crackling noises all night. A shame, it was obviously once a very grand hotel but has lost its lustre.

We went for their vegan buffet at the Governor's restaurant and it turned out to be a very unpleasant experience. We reserved a sea view table one week in advance but we were seated at a table quite far from it. When we inquired about the change, the restaurant manager's way of response was dismissive and rude. His behaviour was appalling. When escalated to the other manager who was there; possibly the general manager, he too had an equally dismissive behaviour. It's shocking how low MLH has gone to in terms of treating guests. Those two have no sense of hospitality or how to talk to guests. It's a shame that MLH employs such people into their workforce. Meeting such unpleasant employees is what a guest does not want to encounter in a hotel as it ruins the experience of visiting/dining/staying at a hotel. Absolutely disgraceful! We did not dine in as a result of this unpleasant altercation with those two unpleasant employees of MLH. We will not recommend MLH at all to anyone.
