We stayed here for one night on our way up to Scotland as it was half way for us. Good price for the night which also included breakfast. Room (number 1) was a good size with double bed, bathroom, shower (with good pressure and nice products), TV and plenty of different teas and coffees. Everything was clean (the carpet seemed quite new) although the duvet was a bit rubbish (like a lumpy mess) but the bed was comfortable enough to sleep in. We had already eaten on the way but I went downstairs to ask if I could order dessert for the room which they happily said yes to! I ordered the warm cookie dough and took it back to the room but after eating a bit realised it was actually the brownie they'd given me which was £2 cheaper than I'd paid for (and smaller, as the cookie dough said it was for 2 to share). The brownie was still nice but by the time we'd realised it wasn't what we ordered we were too tired to go and try change it and wait. Breakfast was really good. We had pre-ordered the night before from a menu. Lovely quality ingredients, and the woman serving was really polite and helpful. Not sure what the brand of apple juice was, but it looked cheap from the carton but was actually really lovely (like a premium cloudy apple juice) The downside was the noise in the room. There was some sort of extractor fan outside the room which turned on an off randomly. It was quite noisy but didn't disturb our sleep too much. But some people staying in one of the other rooms made a crazy amount of noise from 23:15 until well after midnight. They were going back and forth along the corridor outside our room multiple times (for no apparent reason). At one point they even tried to get into our room which was scary. And one of them had gone downstairs without a key and came back up and was knocking for a while on the door outside the corridor. I would recommend the doors/windows be replaced to be more soundproof which would help the noise from the outside fan as well as inside noises from other guests.

Comfortable short stay Enjoyed a pleasant short stay here as a family. Service in the pub/restaurant/breakfast was prompt and friendly and food was good quality and value. Our room was unexpectedly warm for the time of year, despite radiators being turned-down but there was already a good fan in the room to counter this. We had no issues with noise despite being above the pub.

Good location. The bar area was very noisy. There was Karaoke playing very loud when we turned up luckily could not be heard in room. Not much choice for breakfast

Average for an average price. Pretty average stay overall, although not bad value for money. Their chef had just left while I was staying, so hopefully once that's addressed the standard of tood will improve. Staff were very polite and friendly.

Noisy The room was small and so noisy that I hardly slept. There’s some type of compressor or something outside which is very noisy and sounds like it is in the room. They were short of staff so both meals we had there were a disappointment in terms of the food and service.
