Hotel Chez Swann

This hotel was difficult to rate- while a super cool boutique hotel vibe it was missing some elements to make the stay more comfortable. Our room had no hand soaps in the bathroom. We had to use the wall dispenser in the shower to wash our hands which was odd. We also had no sugars or stir sticks for our in room coffee - it seemed as though the room (while decently clean) had not been restocked after the last use. We also hadn’t realized the room on the third floor had a giant skylight in the centre of it- which while neat during the day woke us up bright and early at 5:45am. After arriving late the previous night we had not expected this and it was less than ideal. This was not disclosed upon booking or check in so we had no way of avoiding it. The fabric covering for said skylight was also stained from some sort of water issue. Which made it look dirty and not so aesthetic. The one bedside hanging lamp had also been completely removed and the empty electrical hole was obviously vacant beside the bed. Which was also not the prettiest. On the flip side the bed was super comfortable and the sheets clean. The breakfast in the morning was perfectly adequate- Cereals, juice, coffee, croissants and pastries, I know some reviews had issue with the breakfast but we were pleased. I would say if you just need a place to crash this hotel is adequate. It’s just shy from being great and definitely has potential if the owners step it up in the areas mentioned.

Hotel Chez Swann is incredible. We came for the Montreal F1 Grand Prix, WOW! The welcome, the room, the location, the street view, the staff, everything! It is truly in the center of everything, just steps walk away from shops, cafes, the metro, etc. We had a car and parked next door in the garage which was super convenient. Staying here made our first Montreal GP very memorable.

We stayed at this hotel in May 2025. We arrived earlier than check in time and asked if we could check our bags and come back later when our room is ready. The only staff member on site graciously paused his personal call that was on speakerphone to take our bags. When I asked to get a receipt ticket he claimed "We don't do that here. What? You think I'm going to steal your bags?" I have never been to a hotel that did not provide a receipt ticket. He was also wearing a polo shirt for an entirely different hotel and didn't even ask for our names or confirm our reservation so the sketchiness level was high. Needless to say, we did not leave our bags with him and opted to keep them with us until we came back to check in. The whole thing left a bad taste in our mouths from the start. Also - keep an eye on what they charge your credit card - Upon check in, I was charged $200 for a deposit with a promise that it will be refunded "within 7 days" after the room was inspected after checkout. After 10 days, the charge was still there so I e-mailed them and then it was magically refunded. The rooms themselves are clean, spacious, and well kept although the street noise was louder than most hotels, but that is to be expected being on the second floor beside a busy street corner.

I’m not sure what VIP access entailed for this property. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. However, I had to keep requesting for face cloths and bottled water which was usually given to me one at a time. The rooms itself was not very clean. Lots of dust and hair bordering the room. Perhaps white tile is a poor choice given the state of cleanliness. I was told that the room would be cleaned after one day, however I had to request a cleaning on day four. Again, the staff were super helpful, but I had to ask for anything that I needed.

The location is amazing, the decoration looks great, the staff, smaller hotel with all the commodities you need… comfortable clean rooms !

Boutique with great unique decor. Large room with the best shower and the hottest water i haveever had at a hotel. Better maps should be available.
