The hotel is well located! Close to the center, stop at the cloud forest right outside the hotel.
Unfortunately, we had a bad experience, we were placed in a room of the wrong category, then it took a long time to sort it out and move us.
Then the hot water did not work, we were offered to wash in the next room (this is uncomfortable, but better than not washing).
What was most upsetting was the staff (one of the boys, the man at the reception, was friendly. But the one who greeted us showed with all his appearance and inaction that we were not welcome here.
The girls at breakfast also behave in such a way that it’s scary to eat the food put out for breakfast.
Only on the last day there were people (apparently managers) to whom their business was important.
I ask you to draw the attention of the hotel owners to this and train your staff to work.

Would not stay here again. No air circulation in the rooms made it incredibly stuffy and hot. One window was available to open, but without a window screen, bugs were happy visitors and the noise from the nearby streets was incredible (even with ear plugs). The breakfast is not worth having but the worst part of the entire stay was the complete lack of available hot water. It is clean and the staff are friendly enough thoigh rarely available. There are many other options in the area.

We left at once after seeing the room - and an alternative room, that was offered us after we declined the first one. Many of the hotel’s rooms are located on basement level. No windows. Tiny small and dirty rooms. But the worst part was the smell. Mould and fungus. Bathrooms smell terribly. We would not risk sleeping in that. So we left and found easily nice and affordable accommodation elsewhere.

Price was right for this place, great location, close to everything but in a quiet location. Not the best noise insulation from other rooms but we were totally happy with our room. Other reviews say that it wasn’t clean but we found the complete opposite. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

The hotel is very central, its location allows you to move around all of Santa Elena easily, the attention of the person at the reception was not that good but there were no problems. The room is comfortable, spacious and so is the bathroom. It includes breakfast which is quite good and is freshly prepared.

The hotel is noisy and dirty. Sheets are torn, bed throws stained, odd electrics in the shower, dirty bathroom, loose toilet seat, broken window pane, other windows don't fit. Don't stay here, the place has lots of nice hotels.

Just arrived today 10/1/23 Casa Madonna booked by exodus travel company with 16 people. The hotel is disgusting the rooms are not to standard the sheets on the beds are ripped. Stained blood on one!!!!. And grey looking. Nothing ironed or any care been made to give good presentation to guests. No bed protectors. We shouldn’t be here we should have been in lodges at Fiscus hotel. And we are here instead. !!!!! Some of the rooms no windows. Some so high up you’d need a ladder. We are surprise that Exodus holidays lowered their standard so much. If I’d known that this sort of accommodation existed with them. We would not of booked. !!

The hotel is close to the frog pond, mall and restaurants (walkable), but far enough away to not be in the hustle and bustle of it all. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfy. There are only about 10 rooms, so it is a nice small hotel. Breakfast is a traditional Costa Rican breakfast served with fruit.
