Clean motel, a bit dated for those looking for a bit more. 24-hour coffee/tea/chocolate station near reception. Small double bed. Ideal for a one-night stopover in Monterey.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming 3-story hotel in Monterey! The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk to downtown and Fisherman’s Wharf, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and even a gas station nearby for convenience. Our room was both spacious and cozy, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully equipped with a fridge, coffee maker, air conditioning, and a very comfortable bed. We especially appreciated the quiet—despite being near the road, we never heard any traffic noise (perhaps thanks to being on the third floor..?). The staff were lovely—warm, helpful, and full of great local tips. Parking was easy, with options both outside and in the underground garage. Free coffee by the reception was a nice touch in the mornings. We truly enjoyed our stay and only wish we had booked a few more nights. Highly recommended!

Definitely pros and cons with this hotel. Pros: Great location with easy walk to bars/restaurants and just a bit farther to the waterfront Very pleasant staff Generally nicely updated Good price for the area Cons: Bathroom fan was broken, and it wasn't a recent problem. Presumably as a result of this there was mold growing on the wall adjacent to the shower. This had been painted over, and the mold was coming back through the paint. They need to replace the fan and properly remediate the mold. The room had quite a dank smell due to this issue.
