Historic Charm
Amazing location, unique rooms with historic charm. We stayed in an apartment style room located in the lower areas of Monemvasia, below the Stellaki Mansion. The best way to describe the room is - fancy wine cellar. We had access to an upper level courtyard which was very pretty with potted plants and seating, however no sea views from our room or courtyard. Though we grew to love the room I was originally disappointed to not have a sea view. This was probably an error made on my end. Based on photos of the rooms when booking I wrongly assumed that all the rooms had sea views/terraces. So if having a sea view is important to you make sure to read the room descriptions closely when booking. Even though we didn’t have the view in our room it really wasn’t a big deal and we were out exploring most of the time anyways! The staff was very friendly and the included breakfast was excellent and served in a beautiful building with outdoor terraces with garden and sea views. Overall we had an amazing experience and would highly recommend staying in any of the rooms available! Note: all of Monemvasia is walking only with very uneven stone streets and lots of stairs, consider that when packing bags. I would recommend backpack style carry-on size/overnight bags vs rolling suitcases; and definitely no heavy large bags.

Wow. What an experience staying in the Staliki Mansion with the balcony that we practically lived on. You need to come with an adventurous spirit and running shoes as you must do a lot of walking on cobblestones and staircases to go everywhere. This is an epic experience!

Wonderful stay
We loved everything about it. We had a room with a balcony overlooking Monemvasia and the ocean. Stunning. Parking is along the road that connects Monemvasia to the mainland. This is where EVERYONE parks. The reception is right inside the castle walls but it could be a bit of a walk from there on cobblestones depending where your room is. Breakfast is fantastic and everyone is so nice and helpful.

Very disappointed
Plusieurs hotels portent le meme nom. Nous avons cherché en tournant dans toutes les ruelles de la vieille ville. En fait il faut passer au bureau à l'entrée de la vieille ville et une hotesse vous accompagne a la chambre. Très décue de la chambre sans lumiere loin de ce que l'on voit sur les photos. Très bruyant si vous avez des locataires au dessus car tres vieux. Bref je ne recommande pas cet hotel.

Unique and memorable stay.
Stayed here with a group and booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. The location is beautiful and unique, rooms were large and clean and had amazing views out to the sea. Host checking us in was great and breakfast was amazing. Because of it's uniqueness and location a couple things to be aware of are parking can be hard to find so might have to park near the mainland and walk for about 15 minutes to the castle and could be difficult carrying luggage to the rooms with the stone alleys and steps. Overall a great stay in the Castle with many things to do in the surrounding area. Would stay again.

Ho pernottato presso il Bastione Malvasia Hotel una notte il 31 ottobre 2024 con la mia famiglia in due camere con terrazza. Si tratta di antichi edifici medioevali restaurati e tramutati in camere d'albergo. Abbiamo trovato l'esperienza affascinante ed emozionante. Entrambe le camere avevano anche una terrazza da cui si godeva una vista senza pari sul cielo stellato ed il mare e sui tetti di Malvasia. Il concierge che ci ha accolti è stato estremamente cordiale e simpatico e ci ha dato spiegazioni utili. Lo stesso vale per le cameriere alla colazione. La colazione viene servita in una sala comune, non grande, ma con una vista sul mare incomparabile. Vengono serviti ottimi cibi tipici. Se si desidera bere un espresso o un cappuccino, l'albergo offre anche un caffè a parte, sempre con vista, dove le bevande sono servite a pagamento. La piacevolezza del soggiorno e la soddisfazone ripagano la fatica di raggiungere l'albergo unicamente a piedi a partire dalla porta medievale nelle mura e le molte scale necessarie per accedere alle camere. Al caffè dove si può ordinare a pagamento, migliorerei la qualità dell'espresso e del cappuccino. Altro piccolo neo: abbiamo dovuto mettere da noi il lenzuolo superiore nel letto, probabilmente lasciato in modalità estiva per gente più calorosa.

Great hôtel, traditional, in a beautiful place. The lady at the reception was welcoming. The great breakfast was a plus. My room was small but nice, with a little terrace. I loved the rocking chair! But the frigde make SO MUCH NOISE, all night.
