Adults-Only Boutique Hotel Villa Edera & La Torretta

Perfectly placed to explore Moneglia, Cinque Terre, and Liguria. Fantastic setting, perfect accommodation and lovely staff/management. Great food and wine in the restaurant. There are spa treatments and a pool. I couldn't praise it more.

I cannot recommend Hotel Edera enough. The pool was fantastic. A wonderful way to relax in the afternoon after hiking in Cinque Terre (up to a 50 min train ride). Pool side service was a treat! The food at Orto and the breakfast service was the best we had in our entire week in Italy. Upscale but approachable with fresh ingredients. We also did a pesto making demonstration which was a lot of fun! The rooms were super clean, modern and upgraded, and well equipped with AC. Overall the stay was incredibly relaxing, quiet and rejuvenating. Thank you Hotel Edera! 10/10 highly recommend!

We spent 6 nights at Villa Edera e La Torretta while exploring the Cinque Terre and Portofino Peninsula by train. The location was perfect for our daily excursions, just 5 mins via the hotel's private lift to the railway station, with frequent trains north and south. The hotel is family run and the attention to detail in hospitality and design is exceptional. The charming hosts and their team are welcoming and friendly, on hand if need be but not intrusive. Our beautifully designed junior suite was stylish, light, bright and spacious with 2 balconies, fine linens and a very comfortable bed. The decor throughout is stylish and elegant, the terraced garden is delightful and we loved the 2 resident cats! The bar and restaurant enhanced our experience, both offer local specialities and wines, some of which are grown and produced by the hotel itself and the cocktails, expertly crafted by charming Francesco, are a must! Daniele, the sommelier, looked after us very well indeed, he introduced us to many local wines plus unusual ones from elsewhere in Italy, his knowledge was extensive and his passion shone through. We enjoyed a wine tasting in the cellar one evening which is well worth doing, dined in the superb restaurant twice and had snacks on the attractive top terrace a few times. Breakfast is also excellent, served on the pool terrace or indoors with a good selection of dishes prepared to order in addition to the buffet. The hotel proved the perfect, peaceful sanctuary for us to return to each day, we do hope return to this very special place.

It’s a perfect hotel in beautiful surroundings with its own lift 200 metres from Moneglia Station. The 3-course menu has Ligurian specialities with homegrown or local items and we really enjoyed it four nights out of our 7. The location is ideal for walking directly from the hotel or after a few stops on the train. Or you can just enjoy the pool and relax. The highlight was the ‘wine’ tasting. I don’t drink alcohol but they made me 4 beautiful mocktails and both the wine and mocktails were explained very thoroughly. My husband loved the Ligurian wines and their descriptions. A fabulous place to which we’ll be returning.

I've just returned from the most relaxing week's holiday I've ever had. I tend not to stay in hotels - preferring self-catering - for my summer holiday, but as I was on my own, I thought I'd try out Villa Edera as it looked like the type of place I would enjoy. Boy, was I right. If you want to be near a town but feel as if you're not, this is the place. I arrived by train from Milan, and the lift to the hotel was a Godsend. The owner greeted me at the gate as we walked up the vine-covered path to reception. I had the cheapest room, but it was immaculate with good AC. Breakfast is a delight, as were the staff, particularly the lovely senora who served me with a smile every morning. As soon as I'd finished breakfast, I came back to a made-up room. I had the best massage halfway through the week and floated back to my room. I was worried that I hadn't brought enough books with me but I needn't have worried. There was a large bookshelf from which to help yourself. Having the train nearby, I went to Santa Margherita (check out the Italian Gardens) for less than Euro 9 return. It was lovely to be able to come 'home' to the tranquillity of Villa Edera. The pool was wonderful, as was the fact that you can order poolside drinks! I didn't have dinner there as I like to check out different restaurants, but I had the most delicious roasted veg and smoked cheese sandwich (and a couple of Aperols!). Coming back to the hotel at night required walking up a windy path, but it's more than do-able and I always felt completely safe. I could honestly wax lyrical about this place. Highlights (in no particular order) staff beauty of the place cleanliness tranquillity food experiences (massage, pasta/cocktail making courses...) I will definitely come back:)

The hotel is beautiful. 13 of us stayed following our daughters wedding. Lovely rooms of different sizes and prices. Very clean. Beautiful breakfast in garden setting. Ate at restaurant 3 times, wines and food of v high quality. Pool was a welcome break from heat and sight seeing. Hotel was short walk to station. Easy ride to Cinque Terre and Portifino. Town v nice. Not as touristy as CT.
