The hotel is beautiful. 13 of us stayed following our daughters wedding. Lovely rooms of different sizes and prices. Very clean. Beautiful breakfast in garden setting. Ate at restaurant 3 times, wines and food of v high quality. Pool was a welcome break from heat and sight seeing. Hotel was short walk to station. Easy ride to Cinque Terre and Portifino. Town v nice. Not as touristy as CT.

We stayed at Villa Edera for a week and loved every second of it. The owners and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room with the balcony overlooking the pool was comfortable and very clean. The whole place was clean and well kept. Beautiful garden with a pool where we spent some time in the sun and swam. We felt very relaxed. The breakfast was amazing with a lot of nice things to choose from. I have to say that all the food at this place was amazing. We ate dinner three times and one of them was a BBQ dinner with grilled fish and shellfish. We had our best dinners at the villa. We also had some really nice wine and cocktails during our stay. The distance to the village was perfect for us and easy to get on the walking trails. We went to the beach a couple of times as well and the distance to walk was not a problem for us. On top of everything there was a modern gym which was greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone at the villa for making our stay perfect. We would love to come back one day and can really recommend anyone who is thinking of booking.

We really loved our stay here. The hotel is beautifully decorated (lovely colours and textures and art) and feels very welcoming. The staff were lovely - helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and opportunities to try things we wouldn’t have at home (ricotta and honey for example). We did a cookery course with Orietta in which we learnt a lot and also got to eat what we had made at the end including their home preserved anchovies. It was interesting to hear about the area and food traditions and we now know why our foccaccia has never been successful. We also got a tour of the gardens and got to see all the things they grow and smell the herbs. They make their own red and rose wine which is also very good. I would recommend eating in their restaurant which uses home grown fruit and vegetables and has an inventive menu. We ate there twice as the set menu changes every day but they also have a la carte options which was good for our teenagers (16 and 18). The pool area was relaxing with nice views and thoughtfully arranged loungers. Moneglia has a beach where you can swim even when it is rough. Our teenagers were welcomed by holidaying Italians to play football games in the sea. It has beautiful tree lined avenues and the lift makes it easy to get back to the hotel (and it is not a long walk to the beach anyway). We had some great lunches at the beach restaurant nearest the hotel. You can get a boat to visit the Cinque Terra. It felt like a bubble of calm and relaxation but with a constant stream of nice things and people popping up! Being able to get there by train is a massive plus for us. We will definitely return to do some walking and more eating and drinking and relaxing..

This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. It is a small family run adult only hotel, where my wife and I spent 10 days. Our room was well laid out with both a small settee and an armchair. Our room had a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The breakfast was excellent, with a good choice. We had dinner at the hotel twice and both times a really pleasant experience and the food in the local style The staff were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Seating areas for enjoying a drink both inside and outside. As we often travel by train, the location was great, with a private lift up to the hotel located about 50 metres from the station, so easy with luggage. Walking into Moneglia was very easy, but being the Ligurian coast, quite a few steps

We chose Villa Edera in Moneglia for its location (equidistant between the likes of Portofino and Santa Margherita to the north and the Cinque Terre villages to the south) and because it drew us in with its talk of relaxation, a quieter pace and an emphasis on good food. As to the former, a train line runs up and down the coast connecting all the towns, though expect some waiting around for connections. As to the latter, the atmosphere of the hotel seeps into you over the course of your stay leaving you with a delightful sense of relaxed well being. The staff were all friendly and helpful in a cheerful, understated way. Nothing was too much trouble - they even looked up the Latin name for a particular floral accompaniment to some of the meals so I can grow it at home. The food was the other star. We ate at the hotel's restaurant almost every night and I found myself looking forward to dinner whilst still eating breakfast (also delicious). Rarely have I enjoyed the food at a hotel more. The swimming pool is a decent size, and never seemed crowded, so plenty of space to work off some of that corzetti. Whilst the beach to which the hotel has special access is a typical Italian beach of regimented rows of parsols and sun loungers which, coming from the Channel Islands, was a bit of an adjustment, the sea was crystal clear and also perfect for swimming. We did actually end up preferring the pool as being quieter and uncrowded. All in all a really enjoyable stay and we hope to return at a cooler time of year to do some more walking.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Edera for 5 nights on our honeymoon and had the best experience here out of our entire 2 week getaway. The property itself is truly something beautiful and we loved how it was a bit tucked away out of the general public/downtown area of Moneglia (plus the walk to the beach and downtown was very easy to do). Moneglia itself is a quaint, Italian coastal town that is perfect for couples looking to truly immerse themselves in the local culture. We were greeted every morning to a beautiful made-to-order breakfast out on the patio by the pool that was one of the most delicious things we tasted during our entire trip. The rooms were clean, quiet, and cool. We also enjoyed the pool which was newly remodeled with comfortable, clean lounge chairs. We took part in a few additional activities offered (the wine tasting and pesto making class) and absolutely loved these experiences. Lastly, the restaurant on property served the best food we had during our entire Italy trip— we loved it so much we ate here 3 out of 5 nights of our stay! We cannot wait to come back.

Fabulous boutique hotel in the small town of Moneglia, strategically located between Portofino and the Cinque Terre. The service is fantastic as well as the staff. We had a very comfortable room in a luxury setting. The pool is really nice and the hotel is very well kept and look after. Very impressed with the breakfast and the restaurant is a top class gourmet place with superb testing food and great flavours. The attention to details is second to none. Is so nice to get back to this nice and tranquil place after being in the hustle and bustle of Cinque Terra.

We had 8 nights at Villa Edera and it was very special right from the first moment when we were met at the end of the path and led up to the reception area. All the staff were consistently pleasant helpful and friendly throughout our whole stay, and there was such a peaceful atmosphere at the hotel. The bedroom with a small terrace was beautiful, spacious and really well presented with plenty of quality toiletries. We ate at the hotel a few nights and the food was exceptional in the evening and equally so at breakfast. It was obvious that all the staff are very proud of this hotel and rightly so as it is difficult to find anything to improve. We highly recommend Villa Edera and will definitely be planning to go back again sometime in the future as it was a great base for accessing the many walks in the area, the train station and the local beaches.
