Great experience!

Wonderful stay. As soon as you enter the hotel it’s like an oasis of calm. The reception staff are welcoming and helpful. The rooms are modern, clean and cool - massive thankyou to Maijana in housekeeping! Breakfast is great and staff are friendly and helpful. Pizza restaurant is great and lots of great restaurants nearby. My son and husband enjoyed watching local football at Hogar Bar next door. Only niggle was sun beds at the pool. Rush doesn’t make for a relaxing morning! However would I return. Absolutely

This was our 3rd visit to the Maistra Mlini Hotel and we absolutely love it here. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone who wants to visit Dubrovnik but would like to escape the masses of people who converge on the city over the summer. It is located about 15 minutes from Old town Dubrovnik by car, taxi, and bus but I highly recommend taking the ferry that picks you up from the port and takes you straight to old town. It is an experience in itself. However, the main thing we love about the hotel is the staff. We had a car accident when a local sideswiped our car in the hotel parking lot—which we saw from our balcony. The staff went into action, located the driver, made him come to the hotel the next day, arranged for us to get an estimate on our damages, arranged for us to go with the driver to the insurance company which then took pictures to process our claim. We were only to spend one night, however, the whole process took all day so they graciously extended our stay giving us a fantastic discount on the second night, which was a major Croatian holiday where they could have sold our room for twice what we paid. The hotel is our mainstay location whenever we come to Dubrovnik and everyone should try it. Altogether, it is as good as all the 5 star hotels we have stayed at in Dubrovnik (Argentina, Excelsior).

This is a lovely hotel almost next to the beach and port of Mlini which is a quaint little fishing village. The rooms are modern and spacious with a nice sized balcony with chairs, table and drying rack for clothes which is a plus. Our rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard with fresh towels every day and clean bedding every other day so it was lovely to come back to a spotless room after a day by the pool. There was plenty of choice for breakfast every morning and Mladan and his team were very attentive to the guests making sure their needs were catered for. They were all very friendly and English speaking which was more than I could say for my Croatian speaking!! Nothing was too much trouble. We have to give Mladan a massive shoutout as he went above and beyond what was expected. On our first morning when we went down for breakfast, he noticed that I was struggling getting of my chair as the day before we came away, something had happened to my back and I couldn’t walk properly and was in a lot of pain. He was very concerned and empathetic and said he would bring me some cream which might help. He went to great lengths to describe the healing powers of it. Anyway, he brought it in the next day (Allga Sans Mobil Crème) and I have to say it was amazing; it really helped alleviate my pain. He even went so far as getting me another tube when it had run out and kept checking how I was each day; he was so lovely and I’m so grateful for his concern. Thank you Mladan, we miss you!! The receptionist told us breakfast is 7-10 and on our first day we turned up at 9.50 and shortly after the coffee machine was being cleaned and food was being taken away. We were advised that the kitchen closes at 10.00 am so really guests should be advised that this is the case and to probably get to breakfast by 9.30 latest! Mladan was very accommodating though making sure we got our breakfast and another coffee! Make sure you get to breakfast way before 10 or you might not get any!! I have given the hotel 4 out of 5 because I felt the pool area let it down for us. There were the usual “bed wars” meaning you couldn’t reserve a bed and if you turned up a bit later after breakfast then there weren’t enough beds. For us, travelling as a couple, it was too noisy and busy as it was a child-friendly hotel. Our mistake!! The beds didn’t have foam covers on them so not exactly comfortable particularly as I had a bad back but we managed. There are a few nice restaurants near the hotel and we particularly liked the one just next to it who served the most amazing pizzas. We got a water taxi to Dubrovnik which was amazing and well worth the trip. We also got a water taxi to Cavtat which is lovely; much bigger than Mlini. We also hired a car and went to Mili Ston and Ston, both lovely quaint villages. A trip to the Napoleonic Fort looking over Dubrovnik with a museum cataloging the war was so interesting.
