This homestay is really beautiful. Although it is deep in the alley, the arrangement is very considerate. The front desk can help call a tuk-tuk to go to restaurants near the beach. The whole hotel is right by the canal, with different birds and wild peacocks visiting on the balcony. The facilities and equipment are also new. The only drawback is that it is very close to the canal. If it rains at night, the rain is really loud... and there will be small insects visiting the room. But the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. It is a very good accommodation experience.

I chose this hotel in Mirissa for whale watching. It was a bit late to get to the hotel after getting off the plane from Colombo. There was only one waiter to welcome me into the room. The location of his hotel was not easy to find, but it still made me happy from the moment I walked in. Surprisingly, it feels like a deep house and compound, full of green plants, a swimming pool, the room is very tidy, the lights are dim, there is a balcony to view the outside, and the birds chirping constantly in the morning, it makes people feel that they forget time and enjoy it. I will definitely stay there more next time Stay for two days and experience this hotel.

A truly wonderful stay for us, with a beautifully prepared room, fantastic pool, outstanding breakfast and all the little touches and gestures that define a great hotel and staff. We absolutely loved our three nights here and are very grateful to Milan and his team for always going above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable and fulfilling as possible. Wound highly recommend this beautiful establishment.

The approach to D Canal House might mislead but the warm welcome on arrival was only the very beginning of a three day stay that excelled on every count. What a beautiful place! Lush gardens and a lovely pool area and so peaceful!! A seamless check-in and we were shown to our bungalows. So artfully decorated and with all the mod cons. Spotless and comfortable with a huge well- appointed bathroom with a vast array of high-end toiletries. Breakfast is spectacular, the staff are amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them and I’m running out of superlatives….. If you’re planning a break in Sri Lanka, put Mirissa in your itinerary……. and D Canal House!

We had a good time at DCanal. The property is nicely decorated, is very clean and has a lovely pool and garden. To say the staff were great would be an understatement. They were very friendly and always checking if we needed anything. The buffet breakfast was lovely and freshly prepared every morning.
My only critique of this property is it is a 15min walk to the town & beach but they do provide a free tuk tuk service from 10am to 7 pm. The beach bar pictures shown here are not on this property. Aside from breakfast there is no meals available at the property or around the property so you need to go to the town.
There are only three rooms and three bungalows on the property so it is very relaxing and peaceful compared to the busy town centre. The property was surrounded by beautiful lush trees where you can watch lots monkeys and birds. Also a canal that runs along the property has water lizards, fish and birds you can watch as you enjoy breakfast.

This place feels special from the moment you step into the property. It is set in beautiful surroundings about 15 minutes walk from the Main Street (but they provide a free tuk tuk there) around a lake/pond that is teaming with wildlife. The pool area is stunning and absolutely spotlessly clean. Lahiru and team really made us feel at home straightaway. He even provided his WhatsApp number and was on hand with any questions we had - first class service. We stayed in Bungalow Hibiscus which was like a suite at exceptional value for money. Finally, the breakfast was outstanding with a mix or Sri Lankan and western food. Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer. If you come to Mirissa you simply have to stay here 🤗

The accommodation was perfect and the surroundings so peaceful .. we spent time just relaxing by the pool. The service was outstanding and they were so helpful even organising an amazing trip along the canal with a local fisherman. I would absolutely recommend
