I had a situation wherein I made a mistake in my booking date. It was my fault, and I understand that - but I thought I'd call and try to work with the hotel to try and reserve for the correct date and maybe receive a discount or credit since the night I (accidentally) originally booked for I obviously never stayed (but was charged for). The first call I made I was told I'd be given a call back and never was. So I called to follow up and the manager I spoke to had zero empathy or understanding for my situation. He told me flat out there is nothing he can do for me. Again, I understand he doesn't have the obligation to - but his attitude and tone was just uncalled for. I will certainly not be staying there in the future or recommending to my fellow travelers - there are plenty of hotels in Minot to stay at. I actually had this happen to me once before and the hotel refunded me half my money (and it was during the state fair!)
