Breakfast and dinner quality are not good. Much worse off than we visited in June 2024.

Very disappointing hotel! New wing twin room with 90 minutes all-you-can-drink buffet dinner and breakfast included, 45,000 yen per night. All-you-can-drink wine is boxed wine, horse sashimi even though it's from Kumamoto, mustard lotus root (regular), no red beef. One plate of diced steak per person. There are few staff, so empty dishes are left as they are. Bath is an old-fashioned indoor bath and an open-air bath that is open to campers, which is not very clean. The only saving grace is the night sky class. Even though it's a hot spring hotel, there is only one set of towels. Nowadays, there are two sets of towels in the room, one for the bath and one for the hot spring bath, or towels are provided at the hot spring, but one set is reused. I stayed at a certain hot spring hotel in Hitoyoshi in March, and the next day at a large hotel in Beppu, but the price was ridiculously high and the service and system were significantly inferior. It's a shame considering the great location. They take a lot of Japanese tour groups, but because the cost performance is poor, it seems that foreign customers don't even look at them.

When I asked if there was a room with a private hot spring pool that we could upgrade to, the waiter took the initiative to arrange a family bath for me to enjoy for free during our designated time period. This Very thoughtful. The buffet dinner and breakfast provided by the hotel were average. The food was not rich in variety and not hot enough. This was the only thing that disappointed us.

We were given a room in the new wing instead of the main building. Although there were some issues with the cleanliness, we were very satisfied with the food, location, and room. We were also able to enjoy the magnificent nature of Mt. Aso.

I opted for the new building, because it had just been renovated, so the rooms were very new. I stayed there almost a year ago, but compared to that time, the dinner room had clearly deteriorated, which was very disappointing. It would be nice if the hotel could provide one more bento option for vegetarians/religious people. 2) The reason for choosing this hotel was to see the starry sky, but the weather was not as expected, it was cloudy and I couldn't see it. The food is not good, I didn't see the starry sky, I regret choosing this hotel.
