Onsen Theme Park Ryuudou

I stayed here for one night on a weekday. Below are some good points and points I noticed. Good points (1) There was a plan with a shuttle I took a highway bus from Tokyo. There is a highway bus plan with a round-trip shuttle from the final stop, Minakami Kogen Hotel. I was worried about driving on snowy roads, so I was right to choose this plan. I had the impression that the amount of snow around the inn was more than around Minakami Kogen Hotel. This plan is not sold on OTAs, so you must make a reservation from the official website. You cannot add a shuttle even if it is a paid service, so if you want a shuttle, you must choose a plan with a shuttle from the beginning. There are also rooms where smoking is allowed, so it is a smoker-friendly accommodation. (2) Good after-sales support On the day of the stay, the hot water pipe broke due to a problem on the accommodation side. As a result, some of the baths could not be used. However, there was proper after-sales support, and I had no complaints at all. It was good that the bath was a private one with a natural hot spring. (3) Requests were properly conveyed When I made the reservation from the official website, I requested an extension cord, etc., and they were properly prepared in the room. Some accommodations completely ignore our requests, so I was impressed that they responded properly. They also prepared special orders for food. The food was delicious both in the morning and evening. ■Concerns (1) Insufficient cleaning There was dust and spider webs in the room, and several long hairs from a woman who seemed to be the previous guest were lying on the floor. The futon was also quite dirty. Also, some of the baths had a lot of moss-like garbage floating in them, which is different from hot spring deposits. With limited staff and a large site, it may be difficult, but I think the image would be even better if they put more effort into cleaning. Currently, baths are available 24 hours a day except for some baths, but I think it would be good to use the time from midnight to 6am for cleaning. Although it was only a short night, I was able to refresh myself. Thank you very much.

We spent a wonderful week at the Ryudo onsen. I've read lots of other reviews in different languages ​​where people complain about the cleanliness being subpar and similar things. These things always depend on what you expect. This onsen is certainly not the newest and has a long history. For us, however, everything here was positive: we really liked our room - you could actually say a suite with a separate bedroom, living room, bathroom and our own garden onsen if you like - and we had a really relaxing week here. The fact that this place has 18 different baths, each with its own separate design, is the highlight. The food is excellent - every day there was a typical Japanese breakfast and dinner with a lively selection of vegetables, meat and fish dishes. The nature is beautiful and invites you to take long walks. The lobby is comfortably warm and the free Wi-Fi is extremely convenient for people who don't have Japanese cell phones. We traveled all the way from Munich and I suspect it won't be the last time.

This is the 7th time, but last time and this time I used a room with a semi-open-air hot spring. Only a few of the hot springs that you can visit have a washing area, but the rooms with hot springs have an adjacent washing area with a shower. You can put it in the hot spring immediately after washing it and there is no problem even in the cold winter. You can return to your room naked even in the hot summer. The price is high, but I will use it next time. I've conquered all the private baths before, so this time I used only Otoryu. Otoryu is a hot spring by the river and it's spacious and comfortable, so I go there every time. Meals are served both in the evening and in the morning in a private room without worrying about the surroundings, which is one of the reasons why I come every year. Catfish sashimi can only be eaten here. I came from Nikko through Konsei Pass for the first time this year, but there is no second time. I want to come every year as long as I can drive.
