Sono stato accolto benissimo. Ho conosciuto uno dei proprietari ed è stato simpatico, gentile e professionale. Mi sono sentito a casa nonostante il viaggio pesante che ho affrontato. La reception era molto eclettica e dalla forte personalità. Mi è stata assegnata la camera “aria”, pulita, ordinata e molto comoda. Molta cura dei dettagli e sinceramente gli andrebbero assegnate più stelle. Ottima esperienza che ripeterò la prossima volta che ritorno a Milano.

Das Hotel war hervorragend. Ich hatte einen sehr schönes Zimmer mit Ausblick auf den Hinterhof des Hotels mit der schönen Terasse. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und alles sehr frisch, der italienische Kaffee war toll. Das Personal bzw. die Inhaber waren äußerst nett, man hat sich gleich sehr wohl und persönlich willkommen gefühlt. Dieses Hotel wird meine Adresse sein, wenn ich nochmal nach Mailand komme. Sehr angenehme Entfernung zu Fuß zur Universität Biccoca.

Impeccable welcome, the two brothers who run the hotel are extremely kind and nice. The hotel is designed with attention to every detail, from the rooms to the common areas. Very nice, especially the outdoor garden. Very pleasant stay. Room clean and well prepared for our arrival. We will definitely be back.

Il Girasole is perfect. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is delicious. The garden courtyard is beautiful. The decor is charming. But most of all, the hosts are so friendly and kind! Even though we only stayed a short time, they made us feel like family. I can't put it into words: you must visit for yourself. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Milan.

I chose this BB because I was looking for a simple place for a night near work. I arrived late in the evening and already on the phone I had the impression of the great kindness and helpfulness of the owners. The room is basic but has everything and is very clean. The surprise of the morning: an internal courtyard full of greenery, lounges with recovered vintage furnishings and a social breakfast table where everyone can feel like family. The hotel/guesthouse is easily reached from the centre of Milan by metro followed by a short walk (past a nice bakery). Il Girasole looks unconventional, being a converted factory building. A nice courtyard is hidden behind a metal entrance door. Matteo and his brother are extremely nice hosts, who can provide enthusiastic advice on sightseeing in Milan.
Our room was one of the two behind the courtyard which, unfortunately, the WiFi signal from the main building didn't reach - but was fine if you sat outside near reception/breakfast room.
Room was clean and comfortable and spacious enough for chairs and a table. Bed was too firm for me (not my wife) so just luck of the draw.
No tea/coffee making facilities per the property description, but also no glass for a drink of water (complimentary bottle of water for the first night).
Nice breakfast: tea or coffee, a glass of fruit juice, a croissant and a salami and/or cheese roll.
