Novotel Milano Linate Aeroporto

I chose this hotel because I had to catch a flight at the airport the next day, but it turned out to be the most outrageous experience of my entire trip. Checking in took over an hour. I was in line at one counter, and a staff member with long, blond curly hair was checking in the person in front of me. When I saw the person in front of me leave, I approached her. She was very rude and told me not to check in there because she was checking in a group. Why wasn't she telling me when I was already in line? Why was she so polite to other white guests but so rude to me, an Asian? I think this receptionist is racist. When I was at another reception, the hotel suddenly lost power for a minute. The staff member even tried to "comfort" the other guests by saying, "It's happened before today." Another long wait, and finally my turn (an hour had already passed). When it came time to pay the city tax, my mobile payment app kept failing. I was flying out the next day and meeting friends downtown that evening, so I wanted to save the cash I had for an emergency and exchange it for cash in the city. I asked to pay it the next day when I checked out (I've never encountered a hotel or B&B in Europe that forced guests to pay city tax the same day they checked in). Even though I'd already paid in full, the front desk clerk questioned me, "How do I know you have the money to pay this?" Are all the staff at this hotel so rude and impolite? I recommend anyone looking for a hotel close to a flight not to choose this hotel simply for its proximity. You'll have to take a taxi (about 30 euros, but the front desk said 10-15 euros), and the roads are all highways, so you can't walk. Or you can take their shuttle for 5 euros (which doesn't run 24 hours). It's better to stay in a good, clean hotel in the city and take a taxi or bus directly to avoid the hassle. Oh, and the bathroom walls were also dirty; they weren't at the standard of a major chain.
