New hotel, well old hotel that is under refurbishment, we were a little taken back by the external areas although don't let that put you off. We were met by a guy on reception, believe it was the manager (tattoo's on his neck). Mark or Martin, sorry! He was fantastic and soon put out our concerns at rest with his excellent customer service, he explained the hotel had just re-opened, very professional and courteous, my wife said the check in was like checking into a 5 star hotel. The hotel is room only although there is a pub opposite where you can get food. Unfortunately breakfast wasn't starting until the end of July. Our room was great, very surprised for what we paid, we weren't expecting too much with what we paid (£52.00). It was clean, fresh, very similar to a travel lodge but If I'm honest it was cleaner. Our room was laundered everyday during our stay our beds were made both mornings and tea and coffee replenished. We asked if they had any fresh milk which they didn't but 10 minutes later we had a knock at our door with fresh milk, obviously had gone out to get us some, nice touch, in fact there were several little nice touches which will bring us back.
