We chose this hotel to avoid driving in Messina city traffic and it was certainly out of the way. The grounds are beautiful. Some old photos displayed show the property when it was a family home. Our room was very nice—very modern renovation. The bathroom included a soaking tub. A drawback—unfortunately, the wall between bedroom and bathroom was glass, so it was not a place where one person could use the bathroom without disturbing a partner. Another concern was the “restaurant” menu. They typically offer a choice of a meat or fish main courses, but the night we were there only had one fish option. One other party was staying there so breakfast was eggs cooked to order and a choice of some yogurts & bread/pastries—not the variety shown in the pictures. Staff was helpful.
