Mansión Mérida Boutique Hotel - Restaurant

Gorgeous boutique hotel with staff that goes above and beyond. The heir of the estate actually greets guests and ensures they have a pleasant stay. We only got to stay for one night, but they upgraded our room and allowed us to enjoy the pool as we arrived early and they needed time to get the room ready. It is worth the price.

Probably the nicest boutique hotel I have ever stayed at. Rooms are superb and the staff is even better. Breakfast is as long or as short as you like, with a quality selection for starting the day. Location is just a block from the old cathedral and central square. The walkability of the old town is phenomenal. About 3 blocks away is the central town market. This is a must see. I have seen so many open air markets around the world but this one is the cleanest and well organized that I have seen. Not a single fly to be seen on meats, fish or produce. Plus, just about anything you can think of is for sale here. Restaurants abound within walking distance from this hotel. The rooms are just as seen in the pics. Antiques, and exquisite furniture and chandeliers abound. The owner has done a exquisite job in the restoration of his family's home. Merida is only about a 40 minute drive from the beaches. This side of the Yucatan does not get the seaweed like Cancun and Play del Carmen. The hotel has a reciprocity agreement with a fantastic Beach Club about a 50 minute drive. Roads in and round Merida are very good and well marked. Police are visible in and around Merida. All traffic lights work and crosswalks are sometimes manned by Metro Police to facilitate traffic movement. The city bus system is extensive and well used. Busses are newer and some electric. The hotel provides free valet parking and my car appeared about 10 minutes after asking to have it brought around. The staff were just so nice. The owner makes himself available and is well suited to the hospitality industry. Extremely welcoming and goes out of his way to make sure your stay is unforgettable. Would I go back to Merida, absolutely. It is centrally located for the Mayan ruins, cenotes, beach and a look back into local and world history. This hotel is perfectly located, beautiful and staffed with people that truly are glad to have you stay with them.

Beautiful property, everything was very clean. Service was great. Very friendly people. It's close to everything but the downside is that means lots of traffic. Only thing that was a bit inconvenient was the parking if you have a rental. You can't self park but they have free valet service. You just have to make sure you don't forget anything in your car. Other than that, it was a great stay.
