Spa Hotels in Melbourne

My husband and have stayed at The Stamford Plaza times many times over the years and have always loved it, but this was the first time bringing the kids, as we wanted to treat them to a special night out in the school holidays. PROS - The pool and spa were the highlight of our trip. After reading some previous reviews about the water being too cold we were a little concerned, but they were both absolutely wonderful. The pool area was clean and the pool was lovely and warm. The spa was perfect and HOT - just the way we love it. My children LOVED the glass elevator, this was a real thrill for them and they are already asking when we can go back to go in it again. We did meet some lovely staff during our stay, and check in and check out was fast and easy. The room was nice and clean. There is absolutely no view of the city lights (we were looking out onto a wall) but this is just due to the location and can't be helped. The central location is fantastic. CONS - No valet - I'm sure this was a service that used to be offered in the past? Our bags took nearly 2 hours to be delivered to our room, and this was time wasted that we were planning on heading out to explore the city. They only arrived after several follow up calls asking how much longer they would be. We only had 2 towels (and no robes) in our bathroom, even though our booking was for a family of 4. When our bags arrived, we asked the gentleman to please provide 2 more towels for the kids but they never came. We ended up needing to take 2 extra towels from the pool area back to our room. Our 'Indulgence Package' included a bottle of wine which we were told would be brought up to the room. This also never came and I needed to ask for it upon checking out. The real let down though was the buffer breakfast, which was included in our package. We have stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels and this was possibly the worst breakfast we have come across - I wouldn't even rate it a 2. The coffee machine was broken, and there was no service asking if we would like a fresh tea or coffee. My son had the pancakes (pre-made sitting out with the bread) and he said they tasted stale and crumbled in his mouth. The hot food (eggs, bacon, tomato, hash brown) were all stone COLD - not even luke warm. I considered asking if they could pop my plate into the microwave to heat them up but lost my appetite wondering how long it had been just sitting out there. And the fresh fruit was dry and looked like it had been sitting out a long time. I wish we hadn't taken take package with breakfast included, as we could have had a hot breakfast for much less $$ from the McDonalds just around the corner. Our package also included late check out to 12 noon however our keys did not allow us entry back in after 11am. OVERALL - We would stay at the Stamford again however I think they need to advertise it for what it truly is - a 4 star hotel. Excellent location. All branded shoppings & fine dinings are within walking distance. Hotel staff are extremely friendly & helpful. l would rate their service better than those from Park Hyatt Melbourne. Only complaint was the poor sound proof. l can hear noices from neighbouring room clearly. This is a let down that the hotel gotta look into it.

Our first part of our experience was with Cameron from the Service Team. There was an issue in our room 0804 whereby the air conditioning was not functioning and blowing constant hot air ( over 25.5 degrees ) into the room. Cameron was promptly on the scene and explained what he was going to investigate however after a very warm night he himself made all the arrangements with Lisa on the front desk to move us to another identical type room 1304 and assisted us with the move. Cameron's attitude and proactive actions were first class. Well done Cameron. We were on a 4 night prepaid package however after 2 nights we received some distressing news in relation to a critically ill family member . I went down to reception in a very distressed state and spoke with Lisa on the Front Desk who was very empathetic and understanding and could not have been more supportive. Lisa then went and spoke to her Manager and returned and advised that I would be contacted by Luxury Escapes re the situation and our cutting short our holiday . As fortune would have it we were able to get flights back to Sydney that afternoon, got back to our home and off to the hospital to spend 45 minutes with our family member before they passed away. The empathy and personal approach taken by Lisa will remain with me forever at such a critical time in our life. Finally we received an email from Luxury Escapes which stated that Novotel Melbourne on Collins had refund half our prepaid fee and agreed to adjust the package to 2 nights instead of the original 4 nights. The hotel did not have to do that , especially considering the urgent exit we had to make so I thank the Hotel Manager Lisa spoke with as he/she has made that decision . We will be coming back to Melbourne when life gets back to normal and after our experience there is only 1 hotel we will consider staying in and that is Novotel Melbourne on Collins.

Stayed here as a Diamond Ambassador in an iconic suite - Check in experience was great, warm welcome, benefits acknowledged and welcome drink provided. Amazing room, ridiculous amount of space, comfortable bed, great little office/working area. Unfortunately, the general level of service/care factor is lacking especially when staying in a room costing over 1k a night! One of my complimentary water bottles was open/used and about half empty, yuck. Later that day I wanted to use my $25 credit on the minibar 200ml bottle of gin (which is listed as inclusive of 4 mixers). Gin was missing from the mini bar I couldn't find it. Called down to reception to ask if it was by request, they assured me it should be there and would send someone up. Waited 2 hours and no one came which frustrated me as I was waiting so called down again and was assured someone was on the way. Someone did arrive with a huge bag full of everything except the gin. When questioned didn't seem to know what I was talking about, I had to point to it on the minibar menu and was met with a very confused expression, he left. Then about 30 minutes later a different person arrives with the gin bottle, success. However upon checkout there were a bunch of mini bar items charged which I hadn't consumed, and in fact were not even missing. I hate having to have that conversation but after only 3 words they were ”happy to remove them” which makes me think this isn't an uncommon occurrence. I later noticed that the mixers were charged as well where as they should have been included with the gin purchase cost, but I couldn't be bothered wasting my time to try and sort it out. Club lounge service was attentive but did fill up and get quite busy in the evenings however my drink was always topped up and the staff there were friendly and engaging. Temperature control seems non-existent in the room and I'm convinced it makes no difference what you set it to. I had my do not disturb on until mid morning, so as I was leaving for the day dropped by reception and said I may have missed housekeeping and could they have someone make up the room. Arrived back a few hours later and it hadn't been done. All up a real mixed bag here, but can't help feel my simple requests were a bother and inconvenience.

Beautiful older style hotel situated just north of the bustling city centre. Check in was quick however we had requested a room on a high floor and we were given one on street level, we asked about this and they kindly changed the room. Breakfast was included in our stay and was great with plenty of choices for all types. We had a massage at the day spa which was fantastic and faultless. The location is an easy walk into the city as well as Smith St Collingwood which is really buzzing on the weekends. The room we had was a mid range type (cant remember) and was of a good size with a large walk in robe and bathroom. Would definitely return for our next visit to Melbourne.

Lara accommodating well verse for their amenities, Pai ,Mandy and Kiz money worth for their massage service and charmaine serving us for the high tea that we have very polite and good service, over all experiences worth celebrating my birthday gift from my children. Happy to recommend to my family and friends. Double birthday celebrations for me and my sister .

The place is okay. I had a good stay in my room. They’re kinda strict with check out time tho. Few minutes before check out time at 11, the staff went to the room to remind me I have to check out and I asked her for a few minutes because I had to shower. When I went back to the room, my key card doesn’t work anymore. They already locked it for me because it’s check out time. I won’t go back to this hostel. Tho I had good breakfast at Howm.

I really enjoyed my stay. Beautiful location and an incredible view from the one bedroom apartment balcony. Reception hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks so much! 10/10!

Very nice and comfortable

My 1 day stay at Hotel Savoy Little Collins was unfortunately too short and I did not get to fully experience the room, which was spacious and comfortable. The decor was minimalistic but worked well with the room’s architectural design. Staff were friendly and the hotel was conveniently located opposite Southern Cross station. I appreciated that there were many restaurants and cafes nearby. I left early next morning so I was unable to sample the buffet breakfast.
