Een belevenis van de eerste stap over de drempel van Porta Superia tot je jammer genoeg afscheid moet nemen van gastheer Kurt. Het onmiddellijke thuisgevoel en verwend worden met een prachtige kamer met alle details van comfort en charme uitgewerkt. Een kwaliteitsvol ontbijt, aan tafel geserveerd, met verassingen en ontdekkingen van authentieke producten. Onze eerste enthousiaste kennismaking met de stad Mechelen was ook perfekt begeleid met de info vanuit de B&B : culturele hoogtepunten, culinaire adressen, shopping, wandelingen, etc.. Uitgerust en voldaan en met goesting om terug te komen.

We zijn verrast door de oude en erg aantrekkelijke binnenstad van Mechelen. Maar Kurt en de accomodatie met het heerlijke ontbijt maakte ons weekend onvergetelijk!
Niet alleen gastvrijheid en service waren bijzonder, ook de persoonlijke "touch" van Kurt hebben een diepe indruk achter gelaten. Gaan we zeker herhalen!

Zo’n mooi art-deco decor, prachtige kunst aan de muren, en een warm welkom van Kurt die ons ook vertelde over de geschiednis van Mechelen, heel bijzonder en we komen zeker terug voor meer dagen genieten!

Wij hadden een super verblijf hier. Een schitterend ruime kamer, mooie badkamer met heerlijke douche, fijne bedden en een leuk zitje. Welkome ontvangst en ooooh dat ontbijt is werkelijk een belevenis! Je wordt echt in de watten gelegd op een hele persoonlijke manier met allemaal ambachtelijk heerlijk eten met uitleg erbij. Dit was de beste plek, waar we ooit overnacht hebben. Veel complimenten en veel dank aan Kurt, die van je verblijf werkelijk een feestje maakt 😍. Mechelen is daarnaast ook nog eens een hele leuke stad met alles vanaf de b&b op loopafstand. Mooie gebouwen, schitterende kerken, leuke winkels en alles is er zo relaxed en gemoedelijk. Wij hadden onze auto in een parkeergarage op zo'n 10 min lopen gezet tegen een hele redelijke prijs. Het was in alle opzichten een top weekend! Oh en de hilarische mails die je van tevoren ontvangt dragen zeker bij aan de voorpret. Dikke aanrader!!!

We waren slechts voor één nacht in de B&B, maar een geweldige ervaring! Een luxe kamer met alles erop en eraan en een fantastisch ontbijt (vooral biologisch ). Eigenaren zijn super gastvrij en behulpzaam! Mechelen is ook een leuke stad, compact en gemoedelijk! Goede tips voor een restaurant in de buurt ook!

We had a brilliant stay at Porta Superia, the whole place is gorgeous and very well thought out and Kurt and Michael were the loveliest guests full of information and suggestions and we had a great conversation one evening with Michael about the history of the building which was fascinating. The room was perfect, nice a roomy - bathroom was gorgeous! And all the amenities that one needs for a few days away. Excellent location very close to the station and a quick walk into the centre. Highly recommend and if we find ourselves back in Mechelen we wouldn't hesitate to book again.

A hidden gem in Mechelen
Ssshh - this is the best kept secret in Mechelen.
Book it for the fantastic spacious rooms, the comfy bed, the shower and toiletries.
Alternatively book it for its sustainability, low energy use, home made granola, local cheese etc.
Finally book it as the outstanding hosts make you feel truly welcome.
