We booked a table for our Breakfast Club meetup and were greeted with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. We had a delightful breakfast at a fantastic location. The food was expertly cooked and absolutely delicious, offering a variety of options to suit everyone’s taste. The setting, with its stunning views of Olas Altas and the ocean, was simply ideal. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

If it weren’t for the spectacular location, this would be a 2-star review. Check-in was fine and easy, except communication was a bit of an issue. I don’t speak much Spanish and they don’t speak much English. My biggest issue came from a lack of customer service and noise. They LITERALLY started construction above our room at 9:30p, wrapping up after 11:00p. No joke. I’m talking power tools, ladders being dragged, workers taking over the noise, etc. when I called the front there was not even a hint of an apology. Other random bits of annoyance include a bathroom that permanently smelled of sulfur, room service but no menu provided, all extras (massages, food, wine, etc) could not be charged to the room, a front desk attendant who was only nice to my husband, watery coffee, and then some. But the terrace? SPECTACULAR. The spacious room and bathroom? FANTASTIC. It’s a high-priced, boutique hotel on the malecon. They need to do better.

The experience had positives and negatives. It was in a great location close to bars and restaurants but that also made the nights sometimes noisy. Being on the Malacon was beautiful but also very noisy at night with locals and music from clubs. Staff were friendly but inexperienced and struggled with simple tasks that should be seen as basic. One employee stood out for us and added to our positive experience. Alejandro had good recommendations and was always able to satisfy our needs. He was the only employee that was able to help us with requests. A very pleasant person all the time.

My husband and I travel to Mexico in the winter every year, but have never been to Mazatlán. Sometimes we like stay in all inclusive 5 star resorts and sometimes we like the small Boutique hotels. We just got back from the 7 night stay at Casa Lucila. In short, extremely overpriced for a 4 star hotel, without the basic amenities like: coffee in the room, fresh bottle of water every day, hairdryer, mirror extra hangers etc. We asked to speak with manager, but was told he is not there. The standard comment was always a polite explanation that it is under new management and things changed. The design was very spartan, old worn minimal furniture and no decorations whatsoever. Our small room #4 was in the middle of row of four, all sharing the same balcony. The view was breathtaking, but felt uncomfortable sharing, including simple wood chair and small table. The bathroom was large but completely empty, devoid of spaces to hang towels or place toiletries. The pool area was a small terrace with a 5m x2m pool shared with two other rooms. Altogether despite the breathtaking views it was not attractive nor charming as one would expect in such a pretentious Boutique Hotel. We do have to point several plusses: the location is absolutely the best for visiting Centro or going to Rock Island, beach across the road and al the restaurants and bars within a few blocks. The staff is very friendly and tries the best, but is uninformed and always refers to the non existing manager, whom we did not manage to meet till the end. And lastly, the place is very clean. The linens, old but clean and fresh every day and room nicely tidied. Common areas also very well maintained. Altogether, not up to expectations versus the price!
