Strass - Sport & Spa Hotel

Nice location

Super Hotel, we’ve been many times in winter and this is one of the rarer Summer visits and is equally as good any time of year. The staff were super friendly the rooms are excellent very clean and beautifully kept to maintain throughout your stay with lovely decorations made of your towels and bedding very often which is quite a sweet touch. There is plenty to do during the summer months including cycle tours and walks as well as of course the fantastic sauna, swimming pool, spa and games area at the hotel. The main spa on the lower floor of the hotel is absolutely excellent with a multitude of saunas, separate pool and other relaxing areas probably the best I’ve ever been to anywhere in the world. Also during my stay I did a super electric bike tour around the mountains which is a lot of fun with the hotel’s own guide, a great guy called Stocky. This took us about five hours with a couple of breaks including lunch and coffee breaks, but wasn’t strenuous at all, specially as we were on electric bikes from the hotel There is a great choice of food for breakfast including cereals, fruit, cheeses, hams, amazing scrambled eggs better than we’ve had at many hotels, delicious and creamy. There is a great selection of breads, fresh orange juice and speciality coffees upon request. The food in the evening was equally impressive with a five course meal every night. This started off with the excellent salad bar, again nice bread followed by starter and a soup main course then desert. I highly recommend this hotel for winter or summer and for anyone looking to relax or a bit of adventure It’s perfectly located next to the main Penken gondola in the centre of the wonderful Town of Mayrhofen.

We had an unforgettable stay at this fantastic hotel, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The bedrooms are incredibly spacious, stylish, and beautifully designed, giving off a luxurious yet cozy vibe. Everything was absolutely immaculate – so clean and pristine, it honestly felt like we were the very first guests to ever stay in the room. The bathroom was huge, with a modern layout and a powerful, high-quality shower that was a joy to use after long days of exploring. Dining was another highlight. The food was outstanding, with an impressive variety of options that catered exceptionally well to vegetarians and vegans. The salad bar was a personal favorite – fresh, colorful, and full of delicious choices. The hotel offers a perfect balance for both relaxation and fun. The family and adult pools were both excellent, and the spa area was peaceful and well-maintained, ideal for winding down. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always available and happy to assist with a smile. Location-wise, you couldn’t ask for better. Situated right on the Main Street and just steps from the Penken Gondola, it’s ideal for both summer hikers and winter skiers. We stayed during the summer and loved hiking up in the mountains, but it’s clear this place would be just as amazing in winter. This hotel is a perfect getaway for all ages, whether you’re an active adventurer, a wellness seeker, or traveling as a family. Highly, highly recommended!

Another very enjoyable star at the Strass. My last few visits I’ve stayed in a single room. Perfect size for the sole traveller and top spec. with a beautiful balcony overlooking the cable car and the valley view of Finkenberg. Half board option was great with the evening meals being the star of the show. 5 courses - all delightful and offering wide choice for all.

The Sport Hotel Strass has been the most amazing experience of my life! First, the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms have been designed beautifully and with so much thought. They are spacious. The bed and pillows are so comfortable. Everything is clean and updated. The closets offer so much space. I also recommend visiting the spa as it was the best spa experience I’ve ever had. Just amazing! Second is the staff. The entire staff was was so sweet, so helpful, and so friendly. They all spoke English so it was really easy to effectively communicate with all of them. They were always on top of everything and I enjoyed all my interactions with them! Third, the food. The hotel food was incredible and consistent. I looked forward to breakfast each morning and it was incredibly convenient to have so many options for food in hotel. I also appreciated how early and late in the day that there were food options available in the hotel. Lastly, Mayrhofen (the village). I fell in love with everything in Mayrhofen. The people, the restaurants, the coffee shops, the shopping, the mountains, the views. Every place I went, I was in awe. It’s so peaceful and quiet but also breathtaking. I would recommend the Strass hotel to anyone who’s looking for an amazing hotel experience, with great food, the friendliest staff, a beautiful spa, and the best hotel location in Mayrhofen.
