Matthews Hotels with Wi-Fi

This is our 26th stay at this hotel. If this wasn't the best place to stay in Matthews would we return so many times? After all these years the hotel is clean, quiet, and friendly. There have been many upgrades to the property over last few years. These upgrades continue to make this an up-to-date and an excellent choice. On this trip we stayed in a spacious king suite that has a wide screen TV, a wet bar, a business desk, two separate vanities, one outside of the large bathroom and one in the bathroom. The location is convenient to shopping and a variety of restaurants, most of which you can walk to from the hotel. On this trip we chose to dine at the Outback which is beside the hotel. We were also able to do some shopping at Kohls which is also within walking distance. The breakfast bar in now fully stocked just as it was before the Covid restrictions. There is something for everyone's taste available. We will be returning for a family visit this summer and again in September.

The Charlotte Douglas International Airport is 12 miles away and Concord and Pineville are also close by. Stay connected with complimentary wireless Internet and wake up to complimentary breakfast. Fax service helps you take care of business and large-vehicle parking lets you come and go with ease. Modern guest rooms feature work desk and hairdryer and select rooms are available with refrigerator and microwave ideal for longer stays.

The beds and pillows were comfortable but that's where the good review ends. We were in Room 102 which is in the pet friendly wing. We have a small dog. Before booking I called and talked with a man at the front desk who assured me the room would would not have a smell but it did smell, strongly, of a cleaning product/pesticide. The whole hall smelled of it, a sickening aroma. When I got home my clothes smelled like that cleaning product. I opened the window. We are on the ground floor and the window opens though no screen. But then I discovered that when I closed the window there was no way to lock it. The lock had been broken. We put the luggage holder into the other half of the window so no one could open it from the outside. Only one lightbulb worked in the three lamps. The water tasted foul so I could not make drinkable tea with it. The mini refrigerator was set so low that it froze our food. The bathroom is tiny, right next to one of the beds, and the shower dripped all night, loudly. The only ice available was on the fourth floor as the ice maker on our floor was broken. We paid $150 for the room, as the dog cost an additional $40. Now she smells bad, like the room. Recently we traveled across part of the US and I booked us places for every night, pet friendly, and by reading reviews in advance I got great hotels that cost less than this place. It doesn't have to be so shabby.

This place is going through a major renovation which is so exciting because everything is new! Lobby, breakfast area, hallways, pool area, gym, and rooms. My room had nice new floors and felt so clean. Also the staff is super friendly and helpful. Will be back again for the finished product!

Enjoyed a wonderful weekend in Matthews / Indian Trail for my oldest son’s basketball tourney. The hotel was conveniently located to the Carolina Courts facility, but also to many great restaurants and activities for our kids/family! The staff was extraordinarily friendly, courteous, and made us feel welcomed from check in to checkout. The hotel has cozy and spacious newly renovated rooms and the lobby/breakfast area should be done in the next few weeks. Thanks to everyone who made my family’s weekend a GREAT stay 👍

That was very good experience stayed safe and with clean room nice breakfast in the morning clean bed and bathroom . Nice people in the front disk

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The facility was clean, but felt very sterile and institutional. The covers of the vinyl chairs in the room were worn through and looked very shabby, although they were comfortable. The room was very generic, with no supplies in the kitchen/needing to be requested specifically at the front desk. There was no hair dryer in the bathroom, the first hotel we have been in where this was not supplied. Road noise was also louder than ideal. The advertised free breakfast was very sparse, with no fruit, yogurt, etc. Basically, only muffins and snack bars. Good people, disappointing experience.
