Everything is good about this hotel. Breakfast is the best in my two weeks Italy trip. Just one suggestion: please ask for a shuttle at the parking if you drive to Matera. Otherwise it is hard to walk there with luggage and you will easily lost in similar small roads.

Our experience in Fra i Sassi was brilliant. Our deluxe double room was huge, with a magnificent bathroom. The hotel is central in Sassi and the views over the town were amazing. The breakfast was probably the best I have had in many visits to Italy. We had evening aperitif in the hotel which was served with stuzzichini (little nibbles on the side). It came with so much food that we moved our dinner booking by an hour :-). Highly recommend this hotel.

The whole hotel is unique. Rooms are special. It is clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and always prepared to help. Great breakfast. From the hotel you walk immediately into the old town.

Una struttura stupenda gestita da persone eccezionali (direzione, reception, servizio colazioni, pulizie) nessuno escluso. Una cura dei dettagli che fa la differenza se ci si vuole immergere completamente in questa atmosfera che ti porta a vivere nella storia di questa meravigliosa città. Abbiamo soggiornato in due camere diverse…ma onestamente non saprei scegliere la migliore…sono tutte differenti ed egualmente UNICHE! Quando torneremo a Matera, torneremo sicuramente da voi! The location and view are amazing. Matera is a very challenging place to park, but we got great advanced information and a very convenient shuttle. The cave room (#4) is perfection. It is large and comfortable with a front patio area that contains a small table and chairs to admire the incredible view.

Il residence ha una posizione davvero suggestiva. Si vive proprio dentro l’anima dei sassi. La stanza dove abbiamo soggiornato era pulita, molto bella! Anche la colazione ci ha soddisfatto pienamente. Un ricco buffet con prodotti freschi salati e dolci. L’accoglienza dello staff è stata ottima.
