A hotel with a very nice lobby and common areas; the rooms are comfortable and clean, with some details being noteworthy (such as the fact that the air conditioning doesn't work and is a bit noisy). The reception was very friendly and attentive to our questions. Due to the weather, we were unable to use the pool as the hours of use are limited (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.), and the water was warm. Matera is a 15-minute drive away, and the hotel has a parking area.

Two nights here as part of a Riviera Tour. Comfortable room with a balcony. Good dinner service. Breakfast was buffet but good selection. It is quite a large hotel with conference facilities as well as a wedding venue. Ten minutes drive from Matera.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind words! We appreciate you taking a moment to share on your recent stay. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future should your travels bring you back to Matera! Best Regards Rosa Lentini Sales & Revenue Manager

This was the second hotel on our Riviera tour of Puglia. This was the best of a bad bunch although still not what we expected from the brochure description. Once again we had a shower that didn’t work , had to stand and hold it! Food ok but once again my wife who is vegan had yet another bowl of leaves and a special dessert according to the waiter which was a bowl of grapes! Room was ok but again not what we expected, the staff in this hotel were the best of a bad bunch Riviera have failed to reply to our comments although they said we hear back within 28 days according to ABTA guidelines, it’s now 36 days so clearly they are not interested.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, Thank you for your review, helping us in improving our job. We hope you give us another opportunity to improve your opinion of us. Kind Regards Rosa Lentini Sales & Revenue Manager

Nice luxurious 4-star hotel with modern rooms and Spa. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant that served minimally sized main courses. I ordered Picanha beef and probably got about 100 grams of meat and 5 very small potatoes. My wife ordered the Melanzana Glassata and got two small pieces. We also had to wait a long time to be served. We both went to bed hungry after a long day of hiking to see the beautiful and unique city of Matera. The breakfast was good though.

My family was on a Gate One tour , and this was our Matera hotel , when we got there for the evening all rooms in the hotel were given out, the last five rooms which were my family and others on our tour were given 5 rooms in the back of the hotel in a renovated garage or barn , it was full of mold and you can smell it as you came into building , of course we complained to our tour guide from Gate One and she told us she found out when we did that they did this . We booked this tour a year before ! This hotel was far from the town and they said they were fully booked and couldn’t find any other accommodations ,my husband had COPD and others had asthma , they had no air purifiers for the rooms . We were at their mercy ! In order for us to get to the main hotel we had to call for a shuttle which was an SUV that did not fit us all , or walk up a hill included in the walk , so for a short stay we could not use any of the amenities! We stayed under protest and was only offered a drink , which we don’t drink ! I’m still so upset by it , to be treated that way , I will not stay in another UNA hotel ! I’ve been back more than a week and no one from UNA nor Gate One has contacted us !

On our tour with Riviera Travel, this was certainly the best of the 3 hotels we stayed in. We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is large, modern, stylish and the decor is very nice. Our room was small, but the beds were fairly comfortable. The shower was a high step up into the bath. Our meal in the restaurant at night was fairly good. Breakfast buffet was acceptable. Service in the bar area, especially during the day, was poor. I was ignored several times - maybe because I am female? maybe because I'm not Italian? Who knows. Overall, a beautiful looking hotel, but could do better with service.

Horrible experience. They were overbooked. 6 families in our group were placed in overflow building separate from the main hotel accessible by shuttle bus. Rooms in overflow building were disgusting. Moldy, paint pealing, very dirty. We had regular room in main building which was very run down. Carpets frayed. Paint pealing. Wifi doe's not work. Bathrooms dirty. Faucets work poorly. Shower head sprays all directions indicating it is caked with filth. Breakfast was terrible. Worst coffee we had on this trip. Laundry located in dingy dark corner of building, very small, essentially useless. Overall, very disappointed. Needs complete overhaul including management.

Like many recent reviews we too stayed at this modern out of town hotel for 2 nights as part of a Riviera tour of Puglia. It's a very modern stylish hotel but we felt that there was more style than substance. Our room was ok although a bit pokey with no balcony and only a side window overlooking a flat roof. Signage at the hotel was very confusing and trying to get to the pool area meant going back into the hotel to get back out again. The real let down however was when we came to dine. We had one evening meal and that was average at best. It was pretty paltry and they brought the salad as an after thought after the main meal had near enough been eaten. Breakfast was also poor. They had two hot drink machines but one was out of order so there was always a big queue to use the remaining one. The second day was even worse as there was a seminar at the hotel and so the breakfast area was even busier next morning, made worse by the fact that as a tour group we had to be out early so there was little time to hang around waiting for a hot drink and waiting for the buffet to be restocked. Would not use the hotel out of choice given its location and coldness.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, It's disheartening that we couldn't exceed your expectations and offer you a more positive experience that our guests are accustomed to. We care deeply about the comfort and satisfaction of our guests so we do hope you give us another opportunity to improve your opinion of us. Best Regards Rosa Lentini Sales & Revenue Manager

The UNAHOTELS MH Matera hotel in Matera, Italy was a stop on our tour but sadly, for only one night. It was the most high end place that we stayed in. It boasts a spa and swimming pool, 132 rooms and is near the Sassi, a Unesco World Heritage site. It is a large place and the room that I received was very large, with wood floors with adequate lighting. A large double bed was provided which was comfortable and not too soft. Coffee and tea service,[a nice selection] laundry service, a safe and a real plus-extra pillows and blankets were all provided. A nice desk and very comfortable desk chair are provided as well. The bathroom was large with adequate towels provided. A problem with the tub/shower is that it is small and there are no decals or a rubber mat provided to prevent slipping or falling,. There is a very small grab bar [see picture] but this is really inadequate but at least it is something. The water pressure, however, is good. The minibar is not stocked but if you want it to be, it can be for an additional 12 euros a day [I think in addition to the cost of what you consume] If not, vending machines are available on floors 1, 3, and 4. WiFI+ The breakfast was comprehensive and there were adequate selections. It was a very comfortable stay and I would recommend and return.
Response from Property: Thank you for the feedback,. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, especially our friendly staff. We look forward to seeing you again soon for another positive experience

What a great town, such wonderful views, a photographers heaven. Great restaurants, some cut into the rocks. Lots of up and down steps and stairs. You must have a guide to get the best experience. It is famous for the filming of the last James Bond film. Other places to visit in Puglia are Alberobello, Trani for harbour and fish restaurants, Leche. Loved the octopus, the red wine primativo, and the olive oil.
Response from Property: Dear Mr. David, Thank you for your wonderful review! We are so happy to have made this experience for you! We are so glad that our location, facilities, suites and services were to your standards. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon! Kind regards, Angelo Grisorio
