The key is to play Matera, all need to walk, up and down, the convenience of the hotel location is also very important. Because the hotel itself has a small number of rooms, the price is relatively reasonable. After all, it needs to be equipped with a certain scale of service facilities. For example, the hotel restaurant (Figure 1) is very good. Didn't choose dinner as I had two breakfasts there. I went to the only Michelin one-star restaurant in Matera (Figure 5). This was the highlight of our road trip in Puglia. The hotel is located in the old town and the setting is spectacular. Some of the rooms are a distance from the hotel but the staff looked after that and delivered our luggage. Take care about parking and talk to the hotel in advance about where you can leave your car - they will arrange for you to be brought from there to the hotel, although the parking is expensive. However, the food in the hotel is exquisite and the staff could not have been more helpful. The arranged a private walking tour of the old town for us which was just amazing. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour immensely. People will talk about the scenes from the latest James Bond movie that were shot in the town, but there is so much more to see.

Siamo stati tre giorni a palazzo del duca e ogni cosa è stata perfetta. La struttura è bellissima e curata, ingloba alcune grotte tipiche in una delle quali è situato l'ottimo ristorante dove viene servita anche la colazione, altrettanto eccellente, con prodotti tipici di qualità. Il personale è estremamente garbato e professionale e le camere, noi avevamo una junior suite deluxe, stupende. Spaziosa, con tutti i comfort, letto comodissimo, vasca super grande e doccia a parte, frigo con a disposizione acqua e soft drink, arredamento curato e particolare. Anche la posizione nei sassi è eccellente e consente di spostarsi verso tutte le mete principali in brevissimo tempo. Insomma Matera è un incanto e palazzo del duca pure!

"Ravioli bufala caprino tartufo" immangeable car noyé dans une huile de truffe de synthèse... nous ne l'avons pas mangé et mentionné au maitre d'hôtel qui l'a emmené sans un mot. Mais surprise ce plat nous a été facturé ! Le maitre d'hôtel mentionne qu'il ne peut pas prendre la décision de ne pas le facturer... On ne m'y prendra plus !

Abbiamo prenotato la suite Santa Candida ed abbiamo vissuto un’esperienza davvero unica: dormire in una grotta riscaldata con la piscina in camera con idromassaggio e gioco di luci molto suggestivo. Staff gentile e disponibile. Colazione davvero buona con prodotti fatti in casa. Ci torneremo!
