Matemwe Hotels with Bars

If you are choosing a place to enjoy your holidays, getting away from crowd and enjoy peaceful moments, it’s definitely a right place for you. Hotel staff is very nice and helpful. Food in hotel restaurant is excellent, they offer different menu for lunch and dinner. Verify options for breakfast buffet, you will never feel bored for their food. Hotel offers yoga class on the morning daily except Sunday. Family or solo can also start with a “ Good morning “. There is a swimming pool, small gym room, different ball games for visitors to chill. Hotel is also connected with different Partners, no need to worry about the day trip prior arrival. They can plan everything for you including stone town visit, prison island , snorkelling. We just enjoy our time during our stay.

Chaotic management made it impossible for us to stay here. I was traveling with a group tour but once we arrived, we were told that there aren't enough rooms available despite us having pre-booked this place weeks before. Instead the hotel management wanted us to share rooms although single rooms were booked and paid for. Keep in mind we were single people who didn't know each other until two weeks prior. So while we wanted to do activities together during the day, sharing your hotel room is still on an entirely different level. As an alternative they offered as discounts for food but this was unacceptable, as the rooms they wanted us to share were not even bigger than normal or included separate bedrooms. It seemed to me like they wanted to put single people into shared rooms so the free rooms could be sold again. After calling our tour organizer in Germany several times, me and another lady of the group were moved to another hotel - obviously breaking our group apart for what was meant a group stay for three days. I cannot recommend this hotel as the booking is not secure and they will try to persuade you to take a bad deal.

The hotel is situated on a very nice white sand beach protected by a reef. There are urchins in the water, so wear beach shoes. The rooms are well-appointed and the breakfast buffet good, with a large selection of local fruits, eggs made to order, bakery goods and small choice of hot foods. It’s very peaceful and their cocktails are nice to drink on the beachfront deck. We are all our meals at the hotel and the menu is just large enough to offer varied choices for a stay of a few days. There might be a kitchen hygiene issue though, as my friend had to vomit one afternoon and I was struck by diarrhea on my last day there.
