Although the resort itself was nice, the noise from the adjoining suite ruined the stay for us. The guests in that unit were loudly banging around and shouting at each other for 2 mornings in a row, prior to 7:00 am in some cases. My son and I were rudely awoken both of those mornings with the noise from the neighbors. It felt like we were staying in a bad apartment complex. In order to avoid this again, we got up at 5:00 am the final morning and departed early so that we didn't have to endure another morning like the first 2 mornings. I booked this hotel because I anticipated we would have a peaceful and tranquil stay. The first 2 mornings were anything but quiet and tranquil. I expressed my disappointment at check out on the final morning, but the staff didn't seem to care much other than "sorry to hear that."

We had a lovely two day stay at the sanctuary. I recommend 3 days to be able to more thoroughly enjoy the beautiful area. Our beachfront cottage was fabulous, and we took advantage of their yoga, Pilates, and spa offerings.

I had a great relaxing stay at the resort. The room was beautifully renovated and I love having a vanity space separate from the sink for my makeup and toiletries. The robe was also so soft- added extra level of coziness for the stay.

The sanctuary was a very nice beach resort. I do with they had more dining options, the one restaurant on property doesn’t open until 3:30 making it difficult to grab breakfast or coffee in the morning.

The Sanctuary and Beach Resort is my favorite hotel to visit. In this year, I have visited them three times. Each time I had a great treatment, service and experience there. The location is the best among all hotels in Monterey area. I have stayed few other hotels in Monterey, Carmel and Carmel Highland, but The Sanctuary Beach and Resort is the best, no comparison as located at ocean front, only one minute away from the beach, great crashing sound of waves and moreover stuffs are fantastic and kind. You will never be disappointed to visit this hotel. I am already planning to visit them on September again. Thank you for the great hospitality and you are the best, the Sanctuary Beach and Resort. There are two obligatory fees for in-room breakfast (delivery and gratuity). These fees are disclosed but only in pale, small print on a separate page -- easy to miss. The servers either did not let me see the bill (i.e., no signature) or held the bill at a distance, such that I was not aware of the fees until the final AM.

Yes the prices might be high but i promise its worth it, we had an awesome time staying here. the crew was friendly, the view was great, the bed was comfy, clean room, just everything was 10/10. Give them a try and it might become your favorite, i know it became a fav for me and hubby
