Went for Sunday lunch with friends who were visiting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. Probably the best Sunday lunch I’ve eaten in Pembrokeshire, or anywhere else for that matter. The homemade bread is wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Booked a baby shower at the castlemead with Lorna, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Fantastic communication, friendly and relaxed. The food and setting were perfect. Lorna and her staff are so friendly and accommodating. A beautiful setting with fabulous views, with unique and cosy decor.. I couldn’t have asked for better. Everyone had a fabulous time and were extremely impressed with the lovely, fresh food! Thank you so much Lorna and team. We will definitely be back!

Although I haven’t stayed there I couldn’t help but notice that the picture on their website is nearby Manorbier Castle it is NOT an image of Castlemead Hotel. Whether this is deliberate or by agreement is irrelevant as it conveys an incorrect impression.

I agree with some of the other reviews, avoid the Coach house rooms. We had two booked, one for us and one for our daughter-in-law. Ours, particularly, looked dated and worn out. The bedding and towels were spotless but the carpet is stained. The main house rooms may be much better. The breakfast was good and the service quick and pleasant. As mentioned in another review, there is a bright red light directly above the bed, a smoke alarm possibly, very off-putting whilst trying to get to sleep. We paid £140 for our room. As a comparison, we recently paid the same for a much better quality room in an excellent hotel on the edge of Dartmoor during the height of summer. I think a serious update is in order for the Coach house.

I was be unhappy with my stay here. I felt it was a good value for the money and the room was clean. The restaurant was very good and i found the setting charming. I also liked the service. I did not rate it 5 stars only because it is not that type of facility, but overall I liked my stay.

Return visit, beautiful room with views of the gardens, down to the sea and the church. Very comfortable nights sleep, plenty of towels in the bathroom and a well stocked tea tray in the room. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, plenty of choice and good portions. You get a very warm welcome from the Greasley family along with their friendly efficient staff.

Lovely location, friendly staff, free parking. We booked because of the location and photos of the hotel and its room. The location is excellent. Near the beach, a castle is next to it and there is a Norman church on a near by hill. The hotel has beautiful grounds. Everything up to this point is excellent. Unfortrunately, we were let down by the room we were given. There are rooms in the hotel look great on the Tripadvisor. I quite sure they are very nice. However, the hotel has an annex in the form a separate building - these are rooms 10, 11, and 12. We stayed in room 12. Room 12 is small, poorly furnished, and very overpriced (£150). The Castlemead Hotel does itself a disservice by offering such a substandard room or it choses to do so it should charge according, not £150. Fortunately we were only staying one night.

We stayed here while walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Although the room was small, the bed was very comfortable and there was a big bath. A must for me after a long day walking. The situation is exactly. A short walk from the beach/coastpath, lovely views and a few steps from the village pub. They also have an excellent restaurant. Very quirky decor. And the food was the best we had on the whole trip. Highly recommend.
