Hotels in Northern Quarter, Manchester

Not a glamorous place, but location is excellent very central and is always exceptional value for money. Always feel safe with 24/7 security and rooms are a decent size. I do think they are slowly making some positive noticeable steps towards their image problem and notorious reputation. Firstly they now offer free WiFi and don’t charge and I was pleasantly surprised at the complimentary upgrade to a room with a window, new smart TVs larger variety of drinks, upgraded bathroom - always very clean. For the price I paid and given the location right next to Market St and Northern Quarter - if you need a place to crash and not looking for luxury and have realistic expectations - excellent. The rooms without a window I actually like - especially in winter they are warm and think blackout curtains. Always have the best sleep. Appreciate that isn’t always for everyone and often they will upgrade these sometimes with breakfast for £10 a night just ask at check in. Some of the staff, security and reception can be quite surly and rude some of the time - expect they don’t have an easy job - and some guests can be absolutely vile and sometimes you can tell blanket rule some of them have is all guests are potentially problematic. Example - I forgot my room number, I always memorise the way to get there rather then the number itself - I know that’s bizarre but started a full on questioning accusing me of pretending to be me and an intruder. I had my wallet and photo ID to prove I am me - surely this would have been a friendlier more appropriate approach rather than instantly assuming I’m a criminal. Photo ID worked fine for them to allow me to my room which I had a key for and found just fine. Just constructive feedback

The room is bright and clean, however the sound insulation is poor. I was woke 7am every morning just because the girl next door goes out 7am everyday. And I can hear the lorries come and go and loading in mid-night and early morning. The bathroom is spacious. Water pressure is not sufficient. Receptionists are very cheerful and helpful! Location is great. Just 10mins walk from Piccadilly station and 15mins walk to city centre.

The hotel is in a great location for anyone visiting the AO arena, within easy walking distance of the arena, the Printworks, and the Arndale centre. Nice clean room and bathroom. Breakfast is good and included in the price, however, it gets very busy at peak times.

The room was of a great standard l. The bed was soft and you are able to have a lovely night's sleep. The bath was an added bonus! The location in the northern quarter of Manchester is good. At Christmas time you are close to the markets and festive vibe! You are just short walk from lots of shops and there are plenty of bars and eateries around too! Overall, it was a great place for a short city trip away.

booked for my step son attending the ufc at the coop arena - he said it was great, clean, friendly staff and that it exceeded his expectations so much so he wouldn’t think twice about returning to this hostel or similar in other cities!

I liked everything!

Facilities are average, other aspects are good, sanitation is good. The location is easy to find, and a ten-minute walk to Piccadilly Railway Station is convenient. It's very good to have this price on game day.

Nice boutique to stay over. No amenities though, but a nice bar downstairs.
