I don't know why this hotel has such a high score. The outside of the hotel is under renovation and no one reminded me. I was startled when I took a nap. The room is small, the bed is also small, except for the bathroom which is a bright spot and is considered large. The room has a smell. There is very little breakfast and there should be a hidden menu but no one reminded me. There is a paid menu on the table. The front desk is on the top floor, which is very inconvenient. It is not close to the train station. If you are dragging a suitcase, it is recommended to take a taxi. Manchester itself is not very big.
When checking out, a discretionary accommodation service charge of 7.63 pounds was charged. I asked Ctrip to recover it! No result so far.

It’s showing a little wear and tear such as water damage to woodwork in bathroom. Dusting could be better and polishing of reception desk and lifts needs to be maintained better. Downstairs looks messy Just doesn’t feel 5* or luxurious anymore. Room service was hit and miss, basics overlooked. Did not feel like you were in a special hotel now

I thought this hotel looked lovely and would be an ideal stay for my wife and I in the centre of Manchester.
I can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels i have stayed at in the UK. The service was 1st class from all members of staff throughout the hotel. The food was fantastic, i would definitely recommend dining in the restaurant. The bar area and rooftop option is superb with a great atmosphere. The suite we stayed in was top class.
No complaints at all, and i will certainly be staying at the Gotham hotel the next time i'm in Manchester

"The overall experience of this hotel is great! The room is clean and comfortable, the decoration is modern, and all facilities are in good order. The location is excellent, close to the city center/attractions (adjustable according to actual situation). The service staff is very friendly and professional, and they are always willing to help. The breakfast is rich in variety and high quality, especially the local specialties are worth a try. The only small suggestion is that the soundproofing of the room can be further improved, but overall, this is a very recommended hotel and I will choose it next time!"
