Room was very cold when we arrived as no heating was switched on. Room was small but clean and bed was very comfy. Only tapas was available, but nice Italian restaurant nearby

Positives - very warm welcome by Dan, made me feel at home and explained dinner menu, comfortable bed, spacious room, big desk and TV, Krups coffee machine and plenty of plug sockets Lovely coffee house next door and The Birdcage Pizzeria up the road, The Whole Hog had good menu but I wouldn't feel comfortable as a woman alone Negatives - sash window was not flush in the frame so cold and noisy as on busy main road, Dan boosted the heat so I could get some sleep Took 5 mins for hot water tap to heat up Shower smelt bad when switched on, had to run a few minutes (is legionella testing being done?) No breakfast offering No staff around in the morning so colleague got locked out when went out to move her car Very narrow entrance to courtyard car park if you're in a 4x4 it's very tricky, in fact don't bother, parking nearby

Lovely stay
The rooms in the courtyard are great - comfortable bed, nice shower and peace and quiet as they are away from the main road.

OK place to stay - bit of a squeeze to get in the car park - clean and comfortable chalet style room.
Several eating options in local area.

The Kings Arms Coaching Inn is a rather quirky place to stay, partly updated and partly still a bit oldy worldly. It has a very friendly atmosphere and staff and we enjoyed our 6 night stay very much. We used it as our base for walks in the country side, visiting family and a trip to Bath. The food is good too, and we were also impressed by the local Italian style restaurants, especially Aroma.

I had a bad nights sleep on 04/01/25 as the pillows were too hard for me, I try a combination of the 4 pillows. I spoke to a member of staff on the morning of 05/01/25 and he advised he didn’t think they had any other pillows but he could look to find some cushions from the bar, to this I pointed out that people could have been sitting on them and cushions to which he agreed and I advised that I wouldn’t want to be sleeping on them if people had been sitting on them. When I went back to my room it was clear that nobody had been in my room and no update on the pillows and clearly none changed as the bed hadn’t been made or the room serviced in any way. I was unhappy with their response from the male team member and the unsatisfactory customer service. When paying £115.00 per night I certainly expect more than received.

Stay in Malmesbury
We enjoyed our stay, in the main building above the pub. The entrance to the car park is tight, but plenty of space when you reach it. There is a pub garden at the back, with a decent west-facing view. Our room was fine and cost as described. We had a good nights sleep. Room did everything expected of it. Bar downstairs is a nice place to have a drink. Top location, right in the centre of Malmesbury.
