Maleny Hotel

I don’t usually like to stay in shared bathroom accomodation but this place is different, the pub itself is historic but the amenities are first class. My single room was basic but had everything I needed for a one night stay. The staff are friendly and accomodating. There’s great dining available and a colourful beer garden. it’s a recommended stop over as you explore the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

This style of accommodation is fabulously suited to a short stay in Maleny. The room was clean, comfortable with tea/coffee facilities. The bed was extremely comfortable, bathroom facilities were cleaned and conveniently located just outside our room. The room was quiet and the staff excellent - all for an affordable price. Thoroughly recommend and looking forward to our next stay.

Over many decades I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels in over 50 countries but this has to be one of the worst possibly just better than one in Bangladesh and a rural Indian one. Queen room very small no bedside tables and nowhere to put luggage with only a small chair. Ac and tv ok. Share shower toilet (2) and toilet (1) for a dozen or so rooms. Handbasin in one had no water just gurgling noises and flappy polyester shower curtain failed to keep water in the black rubber ***** so floor was flooded. V slippery. Wooden t/g room walls let every sound in so guy on his mobile at 11.30pm boomed in as he was literally a few meters from us on his side of the wall. Plus all music from other room ditto. Tick tick ticking noise in ceiling all night long was not fan sounded like leak? Wednesday steak special was so tough and strong could chew even thin strips. I thought might have been old dairy cow. Overs salted everything and limp warm salad. Partners caeser salad with 4 prawns was limp and warm. Altogether a beer a wine the steak and the c/salad was $73. I spoke to a staff about the steak but ho hum reaction amounting to suck it in. Tried a ham pineapple pizza but was undercooked with raw dough under the tasteless cheese and salty ham. Very disappointing. On bright side it’s cheap and most staff were friendly and courteous. But I don’t recommend this hotel or food in any way shape of form.

We visited early for some pub grub. I was after something light and they had very little To offer. They did do a chicken thigh without the sauce and a mash with steamed veg. Was tiny on my plate which for me Didn’t matter but if you were hungry you would Be disappointed. Very overpriced too! My husband had a veggie burger with chips which came In a plate the size of a side plate. Terrible value for money.

Popped in as part of special day with friends. Love the beer garden social area Staff are super friendly with quick service and always happy to have a chat Pub food was awesome, decently large portions The bush turkeys are a bit of an attraction with the tourists wondering if they are on the menu or not 😂 A great spot to pop into

Review only in relation to the Bistro. Most of the food tasted very nice and were in good portions, however errors were made. The service was friendly. Access for the disabled community is very limited especially one of the bathrooms. This is disappointing for such a large establishment.

$26 for the Wild Earth Salad Unfortunately too expensive for what little food was on the plate. Big bunch of spinach leaves, tiny roasted carrots x 5, 1 little slither of pumpkin and half a little beetroot and dukkah. If your a vegetarian it is extremely underwhelming and expensive. The bistro was out of veg Pattie’s and limited veg options.

Not at all happy about the lack of wheelchair access. It it was not for the assistance of a staff member we would have left and missed out on the very average food. Not very impressed will probably not return.

A diiner here two nights the week, very yummy food, very generous serve sizes. Meals came out quickly. Freindly staff. Outside area looked great with the lights. Unfortuntely it was raining. We had a nice meal called Funky Chicken and the Special Barra Monday (Fish and chips) very big serves of fish x 2 and chips and salad. the oil didn't leave an aftertaste, which was great.
