Hotel Club El Borj

This is our 5th time back to this hotel once again meeting up with friends we made here last year. It’s just like coming back home, even though some of the staff and animation have changed since the last time we were here we can’t fault them. The new animation team especially Will, Abdul, Rafa and Adam are brilliant they make you feel right at home. There is plenty to do like a walk along the beach, mini golf, aqua gym, Zumba, French boules and darts and so much more. When we were there we had a storm and we couldn’t fault the animation team, they were so good at keeping us entertained, brining all the games inside, along with the daily activities and food we normally would have outside. They always kept you informed of where things were going to be. From the reception staff to the cleaners to Samira behind the bar you guys are all gems and we will visit again for sure

5th time at El Borj in the last 2 years. Visited June and October 24, went back with friends we had met at El Borj. We had such a lovely time. The hotel and beach never disappoints. Food was excellent lots to choose from the fresh grilled fish and meat were really tasty. Hotel and bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious. The animation team were new to us and didn't disappoint. Headed by Will, Chris, Abdul, Adam, Aziz, Ghada. They were so friendly and got everyone involved, had great fun taking part in Boules, Zumba, Stretch, Aqua Gym, dancing. There is an Italian Animation team for the Italian guests who were very pleasant and you can join in their activities if you want. Just bear in mind most of them do not speak great English like the Tunisians, they are not being rude they just don't understand you!! Take a trip to Mahdia which is a pretty fishing village and has a very interesting market. Reception will order a taxi for you. There is a shop outside the hotel that has quite a few items priced up if you dont like bartering. Once again we had a fantastic stay at this hotel it's a great place to relax and the the beach is outstanding. Don't be put off by the negative reviews some people are never happy. We will be back.

After reading the reviews before our holiday ,we were a little sceptical about the hotel , but from the moment of arrival we had no problems . The reception staff were very friendly and helpful , the bell boy carried out suitcases to our room and explained how the aircon worked, and the hotel information sheet on times of meals etc. The room was a good size plenty of room for clothes ,and very clean.the maid came every day to tidy up. We cannot fault the staff , all the waiters ,cleaners and bar staff were so helpful they really looked after us. Just a small tip of 10 dinar a couple of times during the two week stay was very much appreciated. The gardens and grounds were very tidy and the gardeners worked tirelessly to keep the trees ,grass and flowers in good condition . We had a walk around the few local shops outside the hotel, no problems with being hassled to buy things , just the taxi drivers always stopping to ask if you needed a lift , but they took a simple no thank you and drove on ,we felt quite safe. Most of the shop owners spoke pretty good English. The beach was lovely white sand ,plenty of sunbeds,all with mattresses, the sea was lovely and warm ,plenty of lovely shells washing up on the beach. The first week the food was plentiful and a good variety , cooked perfectly , but the second week the choice was limited as the hotel was gearing down to close in November. The animation team were very enthusiastic and a happy bunch arranging games and theme nights for the guests, this was all because of their hard working manager Will and his partner Rada. Everyone made us feel very welcome , nothing was too much trouble. We had a very enjoyable 2 week holiday , just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine .

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The food at the buffet restaurant was of high quality and a varied menu. The pool and beach facilities were excellent and always clean. There were various optional activities available every day and entertainment in the evenings. The staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly the animation team.

The journey from the airport took a while but since the flight time was short we didn't mind too much. We had a wonderful holiday the food was incredible lots of choice, tasty and nice and hot. The staff were lovely, really welcoming and friendly. They even managed to get us up for some activities.....not pushy, just good fun. Shout out to Kris, top man 😁. Lots of entertainment all day/evening Animation team are fantastic. Cleaners were constantly cleaning and the security on the beach make sure you don't get bothered by the beach sellers... However even they were pleasant!!! Weather was incredible and beach is beautiful 🏖️ plenty of padded sunbeds and umbrellas. All in all we had a fab time, best 3 star hotel feels more like 5 🌟.

Very good performance from the team they have such an lovely pool and beach and animation team are very good all the team the boss Adem Abdul rada , They are very welcoming and friendly they are there time to get to know every person that come Into the hotel

We have just returned home from this hotel 4 days earlier than expected. Let me start by explaining that Mantef, Rania, the cleaning staff are doing an absolutely superb job trying to make sure Guests are catered for as best as possible under very difficult circumstances. However, unfortunately they are let down by the oldness of the hotel, the inedible, uncooked and reheated buffet style food in the restaurant and the really crappie alcoholic and soft drinks provided as an all inclusive package. Also in our room, the shower room stank of drainage and sewage no matter how much our poor cleaner did to try and keep it clean and fresh.. I think the worst experience was when we thought we had been dealing with an Easyjet Rep who actually was not a rep at all. He was some random guy who was only interested in selling you excursions and under cutting everyone making out it was all covered as part of the Easyjet package holiday and fully insured. He even has the cheek to wear a fake EASYJET POLO Shirt (check the logo on the back!)... Then when it came to my wife falling ill and we where looking to get back home. His first priority was attempting to scam me and charge me £100 CASH to ensure the transfer was re-arranged. However thankfully the real Easyjet Reps based in UK rearranged the flight and got me sorted our with a transfer aswell. This scammer was reported to Guest Relations and to the General Manager by myself after I refused to give him this money he asked for and he became abusive towards me when I reported him for his actions. All in all Tunisia is a beautiful country, lovely beaches, but it's still a poor country that struggles when it comes to hygiene etc. Especially the amount of flies landing on the food! The Mosquitos etc (yes I know there are lots of bugs in hot and humid countries as ive travelled a bit in my 60 years).. Unfortunately we will not be back. Sorry if your not happy with these comments folks. This is just our experience of EL BORJ.
