A quiet 17 century Chateau. Beautiful grounds. Lovely old room. Very French. Lovely accommodating proprietress. Once in a lifetime experience.

Off to a great start when 6 months before our stay, our hostess Minka was so helpful with booking local restaurants and a brilliant taxi company which were likely to be busy due to it being Circuit des Remparts week in Angouleme. On arrival we were able to park securely and sit down with a few local beers. Over the following two days Minka gave us some more great assistance including stepping up in the face of a medical emergency. She really is a fantastic hostess, both personable and efficient at the same time; it seems nothing is beyond her! The hotel rooms, including a residents' lounge are well presented in a style that matches the building and the wifi works well. A beautiful hotel, very capably run and we will definitely book again if we are travelling that way. Recommended.

The owner was a wonderful host. She was very helpful, booked a local restaurant which was excellent, provided gluten free breakfast to cope with my Coeliac disease. Certainly to be strongly recommended

Il est des endroits dans le monde, que l'on aimerait garder rien que pour soi, comme un secret que personne d'autre ne pourrait abimer. Et en même temps, quoi de plus beau que de partager l'exceptionnel afin que d'autres puissent aussi passer de merveilleux instants ?! Le Chateau de Maumont fait partie de ces lieux rares, charmants, envoutants qui laissent de la place pour exister et pour vivre des instants hors du commun. Nous avons eu le privilège de nous marier là-bas en juin 2024 et ce fut magique. Parce que le lieu est magique mais aussi parce que Minca, la chatelaine est une personne rare est généreuse. Chaque endroit a sa particularité et peut être investi selon nos souhaits. Nous avons aimé séjourner dans les chambres atypiques du château avec nos amis et témoins, nous avons aimé danser dans la grande salle décorée selon nos désirs, nous avons aimé marcher devant la façade illuminée, nous avons aimé flâner dans la petite foret bucolique, nous avons aimé faire du sport dans le parc si bien entretenu, nous avons aimé écouter le groupe de musique sous le kiosque un verre de Champagne a la main, Nous avons aimé danser le samba sous la véranda, nous avons aimé prendre du temps le soir après les 3 jours de fête pour nous poser et revivre des instants merveilleux... Nous avons 1000 souvenirs dans ce lieu qui est bien plus qu'un lieu de mariage. C’est un lieu où l'on vit, où l'on rêve, où l'on se sent exister. Merci Minca pour votre belle présence et pour tous ces petits instants où l'on vous a croisé durant ces 3 jours fantastiques. Vous êtes l'Ame de ce lieu et tellement plus encore. Alors oui nous partageons notre avis afin que d’heureux mariés puissent avoir la chance que nous avons eu.

Beautiful castle in the countryside accessible by public transportation. The place is in walking distance to a village meat market and a bakery. We got food and wine from the village and had a lovely picnic in the garden. Overall a very special experience and we absolutely enjoyed the tranquility and natural beauty of this 16th century chateau. The room is spacious and clean and there’s a fan. Note that as usual window screen is not a thing in France, so come prepared with mosquito spray.

Un domaine charmant, un accueil convivial et discret à la fois et un petit déjeuner extra. Possibilité de pique nique dans le parc. Un grand merci à Minka pour son attention: 20 ans après nous avons retrouvé la chambre de notre nuit de Noce. Un beau moment dans un cadre merveilleux !

Nous avons loué ce merveilleux endroit pour fêter notre mariage le 27 mai 2023. Que ce soit, les extérieurs, la salle ou les chambres, tout était parfait, nous avons tous vécu un moment hors du temps et le magnifique soleil de Charente nous a accompagné tout au long de ce week-end.
