We stayed for a week and really enjoyed it. Exceptionally clean, really friendly and attentive staff, good atmosphere in the downstairs bar area and on the roof bar, good breakfast and very comfy, well equipped room. Wasn’t too sure initially about the area but we soon felt very comfortable and found some great bars and restaurants locally off the tourist trail. Great location for walking to the centre, La Latina, El Rastro, the park (El Retiro), the art galleries and metro/train connections. Loved Madrid.

Location: The location is excellent. Centrally located, two minutes walking from Lavapies subway station, about fifteen minutes from the train station. Neighborhood: Very convenient. There is a Carrefour next door, a fresh fruit store across the street and there are several ethnic restaurants minutes walking from the hotel. Unfortunately, it does tend to get loud at night, so request a room on the backside of the building. Rooms: The rooms are small and simple. The beds are comfy but very narrow and kind of short. There is soap. Other amenities are available downstairs. The shower worked well and was very clean, but the doors were transparent AND there was a mirror next to the shower as well as directly opposite of it. So, your roommates will have a full view of you while taking a shower. There were a couple of shelves and two hooks, plus several hangers, to hang your clothes or jacket up on. The outlets were all European, so make sure you bring an adaptor. Breakfast: Breakfast is fresh and yummy. It is the exact same every day. There are freshly baked breads, cereals, meats, cheese, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, eggs, etc. Simple but very nice. Recommendations for the hotel: Add a lock and doorknob to the inside of the toilets. The showers intermittently get freezing and scalding hot. Replace oranges and kiwis with fruits that are easier to peel, like mandarins or bananas. Allow guests free access to tea and coffee throughout the day, free of charge.

We stayed here for one night while travelling across Spain by train. The Mediodia is opposite Atocha Station, on a busy ring road. Staff were welcoming and helpful and we could leave our luggage before check in. No restaurant (there is room service) but plenty nearby - staff will advise. Breakfast was fine with a good choice. Our room on the top floor was large and well equipped with a balcony, with stunning views across Madrid. People on Trip Advisor have said this is ”Basic” but I sometimes wonder where they stay at other times - it wasn't our experience. It's worth visiting Atocha for two reasons; firstly, the lovely palm court in the old station, and secondly - please don't miss this - the Memorial to the Victims of the Atocha Station Bombings. We found this hard to find but just ask; it is very, very moving, with all the victims named. Take a moment to share this. The Mediodia is right next door to Reina Sofia art gallery (Guernica) but it was closed on Tuesdays! Went to the Prado instead, a short walk up the road. An excellent stay in one of Europe's finest capitals.

I went there because it was close to the train station, but if I'm staying for a while, I'm very satisfied!! It's close and walkable from the train station. The host is also very friendly. Although it was a dormitory, it was comfortable and the members were nice. I didn't expect much, but it's better than the price! It was a bunk bed and there was an outlet on the second floor so it was comfortable.

In fact, we decided to cancel our Booking reservation, because. even paying the extra amount due to a reservation with no charge cancelation: 1. Just received a message (*1) stating that my Credit Card was going to be debited for ”one night stay” ; this today, April, for a reservation in November ; reason invoked: they have to assure that the client will pay., and this through Booking.... 2. Answered, imediatly, that I dont authorize any debits on my Credit Card ; received a message with a printscreen saying that they were intitled to do it: NOT TRUE To make it short, after being in 42 countries, 3 continents, more than 400 cities, and I lost count in how many Hotels I ve been..., I m simply astonished how an Hotel in Spain, allows itself these pratices....; Besides violating the rules of Booking (I guaranteed a payment of refundable with an extra fee, with my Credit Card)they lyie about being entitled of doing it (the printscreen doesnt match my reservation) I´m Economist, so, I do understand that these procedures are, a cheap way (% interest..) to finance themselves with customer´s money ; What I really dont understand is how Booking allows it...... There is no soundproofing at all. In one room, you could hear the men and women doing things at night, and in another room, they kept smoking and catching raccoons. Other than that, the neighborhood was a bit of a crime-ridden area, and on Friday nights, the noise in the square outside was so loud that I couldn't get a good night's sleep during the three days I stayed at the hostel.

The location is very good, just a 10-minute walk from Atocha train station. The Wi-Fi signal in the public area is good. There is drinking water and sparkling water for self-service. The service is also good. My train ticket, air ticket, and check-in voucher were all printed for me. 👍

I had an excellent stay at SmartRental La Latina. Apartment was clean and I found all the necessary items there (towels, hairdryer, fully equipped kitchen etc.). Isabel was very helpful via WhatsApp if I had any questions. Lavapiés district is Madrid at its best in my opinion. It is a very lively and a bit bohemian area with many bars and restaurants. There is also a big supermarket open 24 hours a day close to the apartment, Lavapiés Carrefour. Next time when I travel to Madrid I will choose SmartRentals again.

I wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy. Sweet rooms, bad smell everywhere to the point of giving you arcades, bathroom shared with 7 rooms with mugre (we dare not use it) the door of the room was not closed well... the bed had chinches and the sofas I think they were not clean, summarized a lot of dirt. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, and the hotel is located in the heart of the city. A total tim because we pay for a hostel and gives us is ”pension” for calling it in any way. I would not come back or recommend anyone who would think to spend a night there. To finish we should have a private bathroom and we meet with a griff in The room with good understanding is over the words.
