After traveling extensively in China, returning to Spain highlighted some noticeable differences, particularly in Madrid. While the city and its infrastructure may feel a bit outdated compared to other global hubs, the Hotel Madrid Chamartín Affiliated by Meliá was a decent and comfortable place to stay. The hotel’s location is its strongest feature—it’s directly across from Chamartín Train Station and its adjacent subway station. The street leading to the hotel is a bit unusual, set on a slope, but it’s manageable. The room was clean and functional, though slightly dated. The beds were comfortable, albeit with older spring mattresses that could use an upgrade. Despite the slightly worn feel, the room provided a comfortable space to rest after a day of exploring or work. The standout feature of this hotel was undoubtedly the breakfast. It was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options that catered to different tastes. It was easily the highlight of my stay and set a great tone for the day. The service was also pleasant and friendly, which is a nice touch, especially given the sometimes lackluster service standards in Spain. The staff were helpful and made the stay more enjoyable. Overall, while the Hotel Madrid Chamartín Affiliated by Meliá may not be the most modern or luxurious option, it offers good value for its location, a comfortable stay, and an exceptional breakfast.
