Good location

A family of three traveled and booked a twin room with an extra bed. The hotel also allowed us to book in advance.

Not bad, in all aspects

Beautiful boutique hotel in the absolute best location in Madrid. Salamanca, Chueca, Retiro and Centro all steps away! Hotel was on a side street with extremely quiet rooms. Great space and amenities - the staff were all so incredible and kind!! We received an incredibly warm welcome from Lidia and she was so kind and gracious! The busboy (I didn’t get his name) was incredible - be brought us extra coffee and a wonderful Bonvoy Titanium amenity. Everyone at this hotel was so kind - the breakfast staff were so welcoming when we stated that all we wanted was coffee/juice - they even brought us some pastries. The breakfast room is an incredible jazz club in the evenings - it’s in the basement level so the rooms are silent!!! Our new favorite property in Madrid!!

This AC Hotel was such a pleasant surprise. The personnel were extremely nice and professional. (When I ordered room service the second day, the person taking the order asked if I wanted the same thing as the day before.). They have an awesome Jazz club with live performers each night! The room was great too. It was a corner room with 2 small balconies on each street. My wife and I had a wonderful time here!! Highly, highly recommended!!

I stayed at The AC Recoletos in Madrid in January, so I'm a little late with the review.  However, I would be remiss if I didn't add to all the other rave reviews about this hotel.  Where to start, I guess with location.  The hotel is within walking distance to the wonderful three art museums,  and also to The Sorolla Musuem and the The Lázaro Galdiano Museum.  The National Archaeological Museum is nearby as well as is the lovely El Retiro Park. There is a lively market, Mercado De La Paz, within a few blocks (fresh everything with some tasty little tapas stalls). And, one more thing, there are theaters within blocks for interesting evening performances. Now, for the hotel, perfect.  The staff was more than accommodating.  I really appreciated that after a long flight my room was ready when I arrived.  As a solo traveler, I also appreciated the travel tips, directions, and neighborhood advice (it's a wonderful area for walking).  My room was spotless, spacious, and well lit.  Breakfast was fresh and substantial.  What more can I say ??  Maybe just Thank You.

This lovely hotel is truly a gem. We just finished a 10 day stay and loved the entire staff. The hotel had a boutique charm to it, modern and cozy. The hotel restaurant has very nice breakfasts and at night a bar and light fare as well. The hotel is located in one of the most vibrant areas of Madrid. Outdoor and indoor cafes, shops and restaurants. The Prado and Sorolla Museums are within walking distance or a quick 5-10 minute cab ride. Cabs are very reasonable and Uber as well. Madrid is an extremely fun walkable city. We totally enjoyed both museums. Joaquin Sorolla was an extraordinary artist in the impressionist style. The museum is housed in his magnificent original mansion. We found the Madrid people friendly and helpful. We would choose the AC Recoletos again if we return to Madrid.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location and facilities are very good and the staff very helpful. I would particularly like to pay tribute to Monica on Reception who was tremendously helpful. The only problem I experienced was trying to get a drink at the bar one night when a concert was scheduled for later in the evening - everybody was too busy to serve me and I ended up going out to get a drink. However this was a mere blip and the overall experience was great.

Stayed at this lovely hotel for three nights with the family and cannot praise enough the staff, always super kind and helpful, particularly the ladies at breakfast. Overall a very good hotel, with an amazing location steps away from Alcala', in one of the most elegant areas of Madrid. Nice bedrooms. Will be back!

A new Marriott in Madrid which is fabulous. Deserves an exceptional rating Staff is welcoming, courteous and professional. Tucked in the Recoletos area filled with small boutiques and cafes. Easy access to most of the tourist places Loved it!

Fantastic location central to everything. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Retiro Park is around the corner. Nice room that's a decent size considering location. Staff were very nice and helpful including at AC lounge. Only giving it 4 stars because it is expensive for a basic hotel.

Pretty basic hotel, not worth staying at. Not a 4 star hotels by any means, just 2 anywhere else. Standard rooms, small, no added value of any kind. Standard breakfast, basic service. Avoid staying there, plenty of options in Madrid that are much beefed value for the money.

Small room (typical European), but had all amenities - table and 2 chairs, coffee maker, closet with drawers, TV, bench for suitcases and a safe. Very clean. Lovely restaurant with great buffet breakfast. Bar/lounge with live weekend entertainment.

The hotel has a good central location with friendly staff but this is where the positives end. It's a very basic hotel by no means real 4 star, more like a lower 3 star hotel but with a higher price tag. The rooms are dark and small and very much show signs of use. Biggest issue is that the rooms are not sound proof by any standard as windows and room door are thin and you can hear everything from the corridor or trash collection from the street during the night. If you are sensitive to noise then for sure a no go.
