A really lovely place - we had a very luxurious studio and really enjoyed staying there. Great attention to details ~ it had everything we wanted for a very comfortable stay. Exceptionally comfy bed. The grounds are divine right on the river and the location perfect. We got a taxi in to Maastricht for 15 euros and walked back along the river - very nice location but don’t walk unless you enjoy walking. It’s 45 mins. You can hire bikes too. We had a lovely champagne breakfast delivered to the room and it was so huge we made lunch from it too. Would most happily return for longer next time ~ it was perfect. Oh great parking and staff too! Thanks for a lovely stay. The free minibar was a nice touch.
Dormio Resort Maastricht

We had a five day stay at Dormio Maastricht. We stayed in one of the Penthouses. Well equipped and clean so that was a big positive. The penthouse had three big bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with bubble bath and the other with a sauna and steam shower. There was also a barbecue, terrace heater, etc. So an overall great apartment! Even with a small nu nice bathroom in the basement. This can only be used by the apartments (8 in total so really private). The park itself has a nice bakery, bike rental, swimming pool and Spa. And they have a nice kids club with a daily program to help entertain the kids. Scattered throughout the park there are different play zones. Parking is easy and it’s location close to Maastricht is a big plus. Only reason not to go for five stars would be that there is no big inside play area which you see at many other family oriented holiday parks. Oh and for the foodies; there is a Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel on the park! Enjoy!
Novotel Maastricht

For the relatively cheap price this was an excellent one night stay in a superior double room. Bed was comfy, plenty of pillows, good seating, easy car parking (should be free), friendly and efficient service. We had a meal in the restaurant - the drinks and food came super quick and dinner was very tasty (fish n chips). The waiter / chef was awesome - friendly, efficient, professional, quick, multi tasker and well presented. Only one issue with our stay - we had to run the shower for about 5 or more minutes before it got to the right temperature - pressure wasn’t that great.

I DO NOT recommend this hotel. I made a reservation using the hotel's website. 1- I got declined when I entered my request while booking online. I waited 5 minutes and tried again, and it went through the second time. When I checked in, I was told I booked two rooms, which was not my fault. The manager refused to cancel the second reservation, so they charged me an extra room as punishment. 2—The hotel is too old, smells of mildew, and the sheets are yellowish.

We stayed two nights in the superior suite. ”Suite” it is, ”superior” maybe not. The room is spacious but a bit dark and the fancy sofas are stained. The main issue was the noise. The room is located on ground floor next to the entrance door (heavy and loud), so expect to hear everyone getting in and out the hotel or the spa. The hotel restaurant (also on ground floor) was hosting events in the evening, so there was a lot of traffic and people chatting outside the room on both nights. The restrooms seem to be badly marked, so the restaurant guests were trying to enter our room thinking it could be the toilet. The room has two doors, each guest trying to open both this became rapidly annoying. One guest even made it inside as we had forgotten to lock the door, we had to throw her out ”politely”. We also faced issues with the sink which were only resolved after 48h at check-out, so we had to brush teeth or wash hands in the shower for the whole stay. Overall nothing dramatic, but not quite what one would expect from a luxurious spa hotel and a room of that price. As a compensation the hotel offered us the... parking (cheapest item on the bill, less than 5% of the stay). We have seen hotels being more generous in their refund for less disturbance than that. In summary: not ”bad”, but certainly overpriced.
