Maafushi Hotels with Airport pickup service

As a newlywed couple, our honeymoon in the Maldives was an absolute dream, and it wouldn't have been the same without the exceptional service we received at Arena Beach Hotel. The level of hospitality we encountered was truly outstanding, and we owe a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff members who made our stay so memorable. Themiya and Ruwan, the friendly faces at the front office, welcomed us with open arms and ensured that every aspect of our visit was seamless. Their professionalism and willingness to assist were truly appreciated, and they went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were met. On the culinary front, Nipuna and Janith, the talented chefs at Arena Beach Hotel, took our dining experience to a whole new level. Their culinary creations were nothing short of exquisite, and each meal was a delightful journey of flavors. From delectable breakfasts to romantic dinners by the shore, Nipuna and Janith's culinary skills added an extra layer of magic to our honeymoon. The Kaani Village hotel is part of a hotel chain on the island. The treatment has been excellent from the reception, where we did not have to carry the suitcases at any time. The first person we had contact with was Magic, who gave us his phone number for anything that might happen. The room has all the comforts: a spacious bathroom, a large bed, plugs, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a fan, lots of artificial and natural light, as well as access to the indoor pool. The beach is less than 2 minutes walk. The hotel offers all services directly, without third parties. We have done excursions in which we have swum with sharks, turtles, we have seen the coral reef, we have played with manta rays and we have eaten on deserted islands. In addition, the monitors that have touched us have had impeccable attention. We have coincided with people from many cultures and the respect that there is in general is noticeable. The price per excursion is between $30-50 per person, which is very affordable considering that you spend a large part of the day outside and it includes food. They also offer water sports. We have not been able to do them because we have lacked some time on the island. We have been here 5 nights. As for the food, they made us an improvement compared to what we had contracted and all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) have been at the Kaani Palm, which is on the beachfront. They also gave us free access to the infinity pool on the 9th floor. The views are incredible. The beach in front is private and only accessible to hotel residents. On this beach you can wear a bikini without any problems. There are ushers who take care of everything you may need: lounger, drinks, food... It should be noted that the island is a mix between several hotel chains and private homes of people who live here, so it is not as artificial as if it were a deserted island with a resort. There are many cats that are very humanized, are good and allow themselves to be caressed. In general the experience has been very positive. If we had to recommend the trip, we would only increase the stay by 1 or 2 days to be able to do what little we have lacked.

We stayed as a family for 3 nights in the quadruple room which was spacious enough for 2 adults and 3 children to sleep comfortably. The quadruple rooms do not face the sea. The condition of the room is excellent and the hotels seems to be well maintained. Service wise, the staff are generally polite. The breakfast had limited options. Be warned, the cats literally dine with you in the restaurant and it appears to be a problem across the island. The beach is nice although it is not maintained as it should be. There were plenty of sun beds available. Water sports are very reasonably priced compared to average prices in Maldives. Overall, pleasant stay.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING AND AVOID TO SPOIL YOUR HOLIDAYS!!! We spent 3 nights there and were treated as if we were money. We went to eat at the hotel restaurant and asked for fresh juice, they gave us very tasteless mango juice and told us that mango in maafushi is not sweet, we had the same juice in another part of the island and it was as we expected. Every time we sit down they insistently ask us if we want water, and even if we say no, they leave the water on the table and don't include it in the bill, as soon as we get up they run after us saying we have to pay for the water, obviously we told them that the water was still closed on the table and we didn't pay. They even charge a 10% service charge like everywhere else but they never bring us change and keep it for themselves. They cook without head cover or gloves and the food was of very poor quality. We asked to join an excursion at the reception 30 minutes before it started and they told us it was not possible to organise it, so we went to the beach, where there is a kaani beach, asked them directly and they organised it for us right away (they were very angry about the attitude of the receptionist and told us that receptionist did not even want to make a phone call). The night was a circus: very loud music from 9pm until 1am and it was not possible to sleep in the room or talk on the balcony because of the noise. Room service did not replace towels, beach towels or toilet the day of departure they told us that some beach towels were missing, so we had to waste time explaining that we hadn't received them the day before. And obviously they asked us to leave a good review in booking, this makes me think they think we are stupid. Avoid this place.

This is our first time visiting Maldives and we have choose Cocoa Island. I would like to highlight some staffs who have a great attitude and we are highly appreciate it. Maru from the restaurant, Every day, we were greeted with his smiles and an impressive variety of dishes. The food is so good and delicious. My wife, who doesn’t swim, thanks to the great guidance of Ali and Imma from the sport center. They are professional and made my wife know how beautiful under the water. Lastly, Minnu from housekeeping was a young and helpful fellow who ensured our stay was comfortable and pleasant. I absolutely fell in love with this little island and can’t wait to return!

I want to share about an exciting and amazing trip with the Triton Tours Maafushi team. It was a half day trip to two coral reefs and lunch on an uninhabited island. What can I say, I chose the best company in Maafushi with a professional team. We were very lucky and met 7 turtles, 3 sharks, many beautiful colorful fish and huge schools of dolphins, who did not leave us until our boat return to the island. I want to express my deep gratitude to the whole friendly and cheerful team - captain Batte, Sheggy, Rebit, Vikash and special thanks to my ‘Paparazzi’ Abichi, who took me a million unforgettable photos and videos. Thank you very much for the great impressions, emotions and happy moments.

Masala Street (inside White Shell Hotel): The entrance looks very fancy but when you step in, it's a kind of a let down where they have a plain room with tables and chairs put together. As this restaurant is attached to White Shell Island Hotel and Spa, their menu prices are all in USD, as is the case with all such other restaurants in Maafushi Island that are tied with a hotel. On the other hand, it seems that stand alone restaurants charge in MVR. A major negative is that they charge a 4% fee on the Bill of you pay by card, which doesn't apply if you pay by cash. The moment we told that we don't have USD and were about to walk out, the person said it's ok that we pay by card and he'll waive off the 4% fee. LOL! We had ordered Veg. Kadhai and Rotis (because their tandoor wasn't operational, so we couldn't have had naan) and were pleasantly surprised by the taste. It was very much like typical Indian taste. The rotis were phulka and served piping hot adding to the good experience. We would visit again, just for the taste.

The hotel has a great location in the middle of Maafushi’s centrum. But so many small things made the stay uncomfortable, especially the lack of information from the hotel’s part. I tried to book transfer ahead from Malé airport to The hotel on Maafushi island. Approximately 4 days before my arrival I got in touch with someone from Seven Hotels saying that it would be possible and which timings I would like. From there I never heard anything back. I tried to write them several mails, contacting them on Facebook and even calling them. No one never replied me back! When my final departure date for Maldives was about to start, I was a bit stressed as I didn’t have any transfer booked ahead from the airport! I like being organized when I travel and this was a very bad start of my short vacation. I landed in Malé airport 06:00 am. In the morning and I had to wait 4 hours in a crowded airport, meanwhile trying to figure out how to find transfer from there to the hotel! In the end I found a random small guy in a white shirt! Who finally was able to help me, but all this stress could have been avoided from the hotels site if it was arranged prior my arrival! When I arrived to Maafushi island a guy was picking me up at the port and I tried to explain my dissatisfaction. The staff barely spoke English - and I gave up. I then contacted Seven Corals via mail, and now I heard from them explaining their wifi connection was bad and therefore they couldn’t get in touch with me! But to be honest this isn’t any excuse! Then you should remove the service online if you aren’t able to help your customers! I booked a deluxe room, and was given another room at the ground floor as my other room wasn’t ready! My check in was at 12:00 pm. But they said it wouldn’t be ready before 15:00 pm! This is also very bad! No housekeeping was neither offered during my 4 days stay. I had to ask for toilet paper! The toilet lid was broken and there was a huge bump in the right side of the bed! I travel the whole world! And this experience wasn’t nice at all! I never write negative reviews! But with your hotel I have too! As it kind of destroyed my small vacation from the beginning. Especially the lack of responsibility as a hotel! The lack of information was so poor! The hotel is 5 floor but didn't have elevator, though the staffs could help carrying luggage. The hotel locates on the opposite side of Kaani/Arena with sunrise views. Comparing to hotels on bikini beach it's cheaper here. If you book the sea view room you could see the sunrise from the balcony - which is stunning. Facilities in the hotel was a bit old but in line with its price. Saw some comments saying bed and pillows were hard, but to us it's fine. Had good sleeps on both nights. There was also a kettle in room so you could make tea of coffee, or for instant noodles. Shower is fine with stable hot water supply, face/hand towel was not provided and the bath towels seem a bit too old so we used our own compressed towels (how lucky we brought some). If you could afford the price of Kaani/Arena I would recommend those 2. But for sunrise on Maafushi, this would be your best choice.

I have stayed in Stingray Beach Inn for 11 days of my vacation in the Maldives, island of Maafushi. It is a cute little hotel with a beautiful garden in the shades of tall palm trees. The food is just delicious, they offer asian cuisine, but the pizza is also great. Have to say they are vegeterian/vegan friendly. I recommend fruit juices made from fresh fruit, but also specialties on a hot iron plate (sizzling). Even if you are not staying in the hotel, you should definitely eat here at least once!. The service is a bit slow, but it is worth waiting. The rooms are modest, but clean and very cute, with air conditioning and fans. The staff is excellent and professional, lead by the kind manager Mr Ibrahim. If you want a relaxed and authentic experience of the Maldives, out of the resorts and fancy hotels that you may find anywhere, this is the place for you. If I come to Maafushi next time, I do not have to think where I will be staying. Stingray, definitely!
