Mhl - Maison Hotel Lyon

It was a wonderful experience. Great hospitality, great location. Julie was always in touch and helped us. The room itself is very cozy and beautiful, there are many cafes, restaurants, shops nearby. It is really a worthwhile place to stop and explore Lyon.

My partner and I were delighted with our 10-day stay at MHL in Lyon, France. We selected Lyon because we really liked the boutique MHL property. This is the first time we've spent an entire mini-vacation in one place, and MHL is a great location from which to explore the many quality sites in Lyon. Our room on the interior courtyard wasn't flashy, but it was well-appointed with a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom. The clothes washer was so handy, and the dish washer was a bonus. MHL is located in a less touristy area with great restaurants nearby, a Carefour, and a bakery and cheese shop that are to-die-for. The metro Red Line, which is one of the main routes is withing a 3-4 minute walk. (Buy a transit pass for your visit.) It's also possible to cross the river to the centre of the city, and further to the old town. Fourviere is visible from the river bank, which is also a 3-4 minute walk. What really sets MHL apart from any place we've ever stayed is the wonderfully helpful staff. The level of service is the absolute best. They check-in periodically and they will do everything within their power to help. I can't say enough about them!

MHL was exactly what we wanted for our first international, family trip. The entrance to the room was private and the room more like an Air BnB with the perk of cleaning services. This made our room feel like home away from home. The location was excellent with easy access to public transportation, a parking garage nearby, delicious cafes and restaurants all around us, and within walking distance to Old Lyon. Our host regularly checked in with us to if we needed anything, including information on local travel when we made a day trip south. We highly recommend staying at MHL and would stay again!

Overall pleasant with some minor imperfection Overall a pleasant stay. The owners tried their best to appear helpful. Clean, furnished apartment with full utilities. However, the so called courtyard was in the vicinity of the kitchen of a restaurant, with staff throwing out garbage into a dumpster which happened to be in the centre of the courtyard. Additionally, noise insulation was suboptimal.
