Hôtel des Artistes

We stayed here in June 2025 for three nights. We reserved an “Acte III Double” room in this 3-star hotel. It was clean, comfortable, and a great location for walking to many great sights in Presqu’ile area as well as the Vieux Lyon area just across the bridges. This room type has more space than their other types, and we found it to have a decent amount of space. Our room was on the third floor (which is three floors above ground level) and looked directly at the Place des Celestins. There were events each night at the Place des Celestins, yet we found that any noise from those events was not an issue. We opted for the daily breakfast buffet on each of our three mornings. It was delicious and had a lot of options. If you need a place to park a car while staying at Hotel des Artists, the closest and most convenient place is the parking garage under the Place des Celestins. (The garage is not owned or operated by the hotel). The garage entrance is directly in front of the hotel front door. Note that it is expensive. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and departed on a Sunday morning. The cost was €116. We highly recommend this hotel.

The worst night we have experienced in a hotel. Air conditioning is non existent only evaporate cooling which was useless against the 33 degrees outside. Tried to change rooms but nothing was available but they gave us a fan. You have to collect your water from downstairs, none available in the room . No mini bars & they couldn’t provide us with a wine glass or cork screw. Better alternatives elsewhere.
