Villa Florentine

Spectaclar service; great room, great sservice. could not have been better. I would stay here every time I come to Lyon.

Beyond expectations in the facility, staff, service and ambiance of rooms and hotel facilities. Forty years of travel in Europe this is the best place.

Loved my 4 night stay at the Villa Florentine. Staff was amazingly accommodating and so helpful In planning tours and rental car reservation.

A pleasant looking hotel located in a prime spot overlooking the city, it’s well located for the old town area, but is also nice and quiet as well being somewhat up hill from all the bars and restaurants. The downside of that is that it is a bit of a trek back up. There’s a choice of steps, but there really is rather a lot, so we found the walk uphill from the station to be preferable. Service was impeccable, we were offered a complimentary drink on the terrace when we arrived (although oddly only a juice rather than something bubbly, for example) and were given a tour of the hotel by the assistant manager. The concierge too was very friendly and helpful. Our room had a lovely large patio with a couple of sun loungers as well as a table and chairs, and was a very good size. Facilities included a Nespresso machine, safe, TV and a decent bathroom with twin sinks and a good shower. At turndown a couple of marshmallows were left on the bed which was a nice touch. Breakfast included a good selection from the buffet and covered most bases including cold meat and cheese, smoked salmon, cereals, yoghurt, pastries and both prepared and whole fruit. Hot options were limited to sausage, bacon and scrambled egg, but additional egg dishes were also available to order, as well as pancakes and crepes. All the food we tried was very good, and I was particularly taken with the apple flan which is an unusual breakfast option! We didn’t try the restaurant, although we did have a cocktail in the bar which was also very nice, although the selection was quite limited with only three to choose from. Overall, very good indeed and highly recommended.
