Unfortunately, my stay at the RomeroHaus Luzern was a real disappointment – on several levels. When booking, I had specifically stated that I had to get up at 5 a.m. and requested the quietest room possible. Despite this, I was given a room right next to a family with a crying baby. Loud crying could be heard all night, along with loud train and freight train noises every 30 minutes. Sleep was simply impossible. The refrigerator in the room was also incredibly loud (okay, you could turn it off), but the ventilation system in the neighboring rooms was audible through the walls. What made the stay even more unbearable was the sweet, perfumed smell in the room. Despite the window being open, this pungent scent wouldn't go away – I don't know if it was from an air freshener or the previous guest, but it was almost unbearable for me. The parking space was supposed to cost 10 francs – that's what it says in the terms and conditions – we paid over 20. They weren't willing to refund the difference. Instead, the receptionist simply said, "You pressed the wrong button." It was like, "It's your own fault." For 160 francs a night on the outskirts of the city, I expect a lot more in Switzerland, especially comfortable sleeping, a bit of peace and quiet (I booked it specifically outside of the city), and at least some leniency when things go wrong. Unfortunately, nothing worked out here – from the room to the service to the billing. I can't recommend the RomeroHaus at all!

We held a seminar at the Romerohaus in Lucerne. There were around 100 participants in attendance. We used the entrance area and the restaurant for the welcome coffee, lunch, and the afternoon coffee break, as well as the Chungara seminar room. All agreed services and rooms were perfectly prepared and executed by the Romerohaus. The staff were courteous, helpful, and friendly. The only downside was that, given the large number of participants, there was a bit of a queue at the lunch buffet. This was because the food buffet could only be served from one side. However, the kitchen team worked quickly and enthusiastically, making this bearable, I hope for the participants as well. The kitchen team conjured up a healthy, fresh, and easily digestible lunch menu for this large number of people, catering to fish-eaters, vegetarians, and vegans. All of our requests before and during the event were promptly implemented. Many thanks to the entire Romerohaus team. We would be happy to return on another occasion.
