Good location. There are also a pool, bars, gardens and restaurants, so you can enjoy all day. Reception staff were not the nicest. They charge a large fee for an airport shuttle.

Overall, it was a good stay. Reception was quick to address initial issues around cleanliness of my room, and they made up for it by upgrading me. Room service was great, restaurants and breakfast also very good. Location is ideal, you can take a walk on the Nile at sunset and the garden is absolutely stunning. I do think parts of the hotel need upgrading, the carpets were looking a bit rough in parts of my room, the hairdryers were seriously old, headboard had marks and scuffs on it etc., I definitely expected a bit more for a 5 star hotel.

The Winter Palace Hotel is the best old hotel in Luxor. This is a secondary line, but it is on the same site. It is a few buildings on the left after entering the lobby!
