The location is perfect for travellers with a car, the hotel has a huge parking lot. The walking distance to the old center gate is 10 minutes. The rooms are not recently renovated but they were clean, air conditioning working perfectly. We handled the communication and check in with Alia, she is fluent in English also if you don’t speak Italian. She very friendly and responsive to requests. Hotel Stipino is a very good choice for a city trip to Lucca!

I’d advise you not to use this hotel. Years ago it was good but the current owner is unhelpful. Having paid for 3 nights B&B we were told breakfast was 4 to 5 minutes walk at a little bar. We were allowed one coffee and one croissant. We talked to the guy and said we were not happy but just got a shrug and refusal to do anything. The room was poor and bathroom shabby. We had to ask for toilet paper and one day the room was not serviced. I give one point for being in the right place and having private parking. My advice is to go elsewhere.

Esperienza da non rifare: Si può dire che ha solo un aspetto buono: il segretario all'accettazione che è stato accogliente per gentilezza, disponibilità e cortesia verso gli ospiti. Non lo consiglio perché: 1) Vi è un odore terribile di fogna a cielo aperto in bagno. 2) Non c'è il frigo bar in stanza perciò se hai sete ti arrangi. 3) Super mega parcheggio che ti dà sollievo a prima vista, dato che l'hotel si trova su una via principale e stretta, poi devi passare ad un amaro esame di realtà: a pagamento. 4) Nessuna disponibilità per chi ha corso la Mezza Maratona di Lucca di farsi una doccia, ma si se paghi 20€ a persona, si si! 5) Ho ottenuto la colazione in un albergo attiguo, perché non fa questo servizio, intanto che ha una location all'esterno, che merita, pergolato e tavolini retrò.

Se non avete pretese e non siete schizzinosi può anche fare al caso vostro, altrimenti da evitare, penso che le foto parlino da sole. Colazione in un altro albergo a dir loro fino alle 9.45 ma arriviamo alle 9.30 ed era già tutto sbaraccato perché la ragazza pensava non ci fosse più nessuno, poco male perché c'è una buona pasticceria proprio davanti. Personale cortese, ottima posizione vicino alle mure del centro di Lucca.

Mobilio spaiato e non in sicurezza (maniglie rotte). WC pulito solo sulla "carta" del sigillo. Letto matrimoniale con 2 materassi singoli duri e nessuna coperta aggiuntiva. Condizionatore con telecomando non funzionante. Riscaldamento e acqua calda non funzionante e svegliarsi con camera gelata e doccia gelata non è molto piacevole. Nessuna indicazione sul telefono in camera del numero da chiamare per richiedere assistenza. Personale assente in portineria. Chiavi delle camere lasciate incustodite in zona di passaggio. Colazione erogata da un'altra albergo di categoria tre stelle, ma la quantità e la qualità dei prodotti offerti non è assolutamente allineata alla categoria proposta. Di buono ha solo la posizione vicino alle mura di Lucca, ma è assolutamente da evitare.

Soggiorno in questo hotel con un cofanetto Smartbox che mi era stato regalato, valore 80 euro. Avrei dovuto avere anche la colazione ed un aperitivo di benvenuto compresi. Non che mi interessasse, ma appena arrivati ci viene detto che il bar e’ fuori uso quindi non possiamo avere nessuna delle due cose e che per compensare non ci fanno pagare 13 euro di parcheggio (che in realtà in altre recensioni viene detto essere gratuito), il supplemento per il cane (anche in questo caso in fase di prenotazione ho chiesto e non mi è stato menzionato nessun supplemento) e la tassa di soggiorno. Il personale sparisce poco dopo e non si vede più, per entrare ed uscire ci viene dato un codice per aprire la porta in autonomia. La stanza è fredda, non c’è modo di aumentare la temperatura nonostante lo abbiamo richiesto. Letti e cuscini per niente comodi, insonorizzazione della stanza pari a zero e la stanza è anche sopra ad una strada. Le due stelle solo per la posizione rispetto al centro di Lucca, raggiungibile con una piacevole passeggiata di 10/15 minuti.

La struttura è datata e andrebbe rimodernata per maggiore comfort. La posizione subito fuori le mura è molto comoda e anche il parcheggio interno è ottimo. La proprietaria è molto gentile. Consigliato per brevi soggiorni, l’esperienza di una notte è stata comunque soddisfacente.
