Siamo tornati al Relais Inn dopo qualche anno, attratti dalla sua posizione davvero comoda, a pochi passi dal centro di Lucca. Purtroppo, rispetto al passato, la struttura mostra segni di usura e avrebbe bisogno di qualche intervento di rinnovamento. La nostra camera affacciava sulla strada ed era molto rumorosa fino a tarda notte a causa del bar sottostante. Con il caldo, tenere le finestre chiuse non era ideale, anche perché il condizionatore era piuttosto rumoroso. Anche la pulizia potrebbe essere migliorata: la camera non dava una sensazione di particolare cura. La colazione era discreta ma ripetitiva, con un’offerta limitata per tutta la settimana. Lucca resta una destinazione splendida e torneremo sicuramente, ma la prossima volta proveremo un’altra sistemazione.

Situato all'interno del centro storico e ai piedi delle mura (incantevoli) in una posizione che consente di raggiungere con facilità a piedi tutti i principali monumenti. Il parcheggio a pagamento si trova facilmente a pochi metri dall'Hotel. Disponibile comunque anche un garage da due posti a pagamento. La stanza che ci è stata assegnata (6) era composta da due locali di cui uno con due letti singoli ed uno con letto matrimoniale. L'ambiente è in po' datato ma comunque ben sistemato pulito e comodo. Alle reception una signora gentilissima e pronta a fornirci tutte le informazioni necessarie. Colazione molto buona con vasta scelta di torte e anche di salato. Esperienza sicuramente positiva e raccomandabile.

Positives: well placed within the walls, fairly quiet street, reception staff pleasant, bed comfortable, breakfast fine. Negatives: room on the shabby side. ‘Headboard’ turns out to be floor vinyl planks stuck on the wall. Couldn’t hang a dress in the wardrobe as fridge in there, so only short length. Bathroom window with no privacy… clear window looking onto a derelict building [hopefully!], uncovered duvet provided was stained… yuk. Definitely on the shabby side of shabby/chic. Looks like it’s been finished off with minimal budget…

Really poor experience. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, dispenser for liquid soap like a public bathroom, no shampoo, a broken shower door, a slow draining shower that nearly flooded the bathroom, a stained, thin duvet with no cover on, and a reception that wasn't happy to see us leave at 7.45am to catch a flight because reception didn't open until 8.... (we didn't know this, nor did we need to have reception open as we'd already paid). It turned out they wanted the extra 5 euros for the tourist tax, so were prepared to open early to receive it..... basically avoid. Pay a little extra and stay somewhere else.

Clean, comfortable en-suite double room with air-conditioning. Basic furniture with a fridge with water supplied. Inside the city walls in a quiet location, our room was over next doors eatery but with doubled glazed windows noise was minimal. A continental breakfast served daily with plenty of choices, including yogurt, fruit, cereals and cake. The staff spoke good English and were very welcoming and attentive. I would definitely recommend this B&B and there is a lift which is a bonus as in Lucca many of the hotels don’t have them.

Great location being one row back from / within the wall and close to the train station. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful. We were on the top floor and used both lift and stairs and rooms were quiet. There is a restaurant next door and apparently there had been some noise issues previously but no issues during our stay. Double glazed windows and really good internal shutters to keep the bedroom dark. Quirky and creative styling in the rooms but in keeping with the old building style and really liked it. Breakfast was basic but good and really loved the fresh cakes. One minor and slightly annoying observation was that the hotel provide bathroom liquid soap in a bottle (smelt lovely). However as the week progressed it appeared to be getting watered down and at the end of the week it was really noticeable. We absolutely loved Lucca and if we ever returned would have no hesitation in returning to this Hotel again and recommend it.

Convenient location near the center and a parking lot, the room was nice and clean and the breakfast was also good. Unfortunately we realized at 21 that the TV didn't work, we called the numbers in the room without getting an answer, the radiator was on all night and there was no way to turn it off so much that we slept with the window wide open. These things of his unfortunately worsened the quality of our stay
